It is with great interest that I am presenting my CV to you for the role of Health Care Assistant, as
advertised on the … website. After reading the job role, I believe I am an excellent candidate for
this position and that I would be suited for your organisation.
I have worked as a Health Care Assistant in a St Giles Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Zimbabwe
providing care to disabled children, adults and the elderly who were unable to perform regular
daily tasks. I have also worked for the City of Harare in a care and administrative role. There, I
helped clients with disabilities participate in follow-up activities, assisted them in and out of bed,
and helped to feed and medicate them. During this time, our primary duty was to act in the best
interest of the client while ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines.
By far the most rewarding care experience I have had has been assisting my family in looking after
my grandmother. Because of her age and failing health, I’ve spent a lot of time making sure she
has eaten, bathed, taken her medication and attended her hospital appointments. I’ve even spent
time with her in the garden helping to maintain her yellow roses.
These experiences combined with my degree in Psychology have given me a companionate,
caring, open minded and tactful approach to care. I hope to utilise these skills and my willingness
to actively listen and learn into your Health Care Assistant role. I also hope to take advantage of
the resources you offer to help attain my NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
