METHOD OF STATEMENT FOR EARTH ELECTRODE SEAL INSPECTION PIT

(EARTH PIT)

• Check on the approved drawing pertaining to the location of the earth pit and
ensure that there are no further changes to the location.

• Pile in the earthing rod and ensure that reading is taken (values to achieve of
not more than 30ohms per earth point.) note: numbers of earthing rod
piled, may varies to location of earth pit.

• Mount the Earth Electrode Seal Inspection Pit after value of earth rod is
accepted. Earth rod must be in the centre of the earth pit.

• Ensure& check the FFL when mounting the earth pit as the earth pit cover
must be flush to the FFL.

• Secure the earth pit to the T10 re-bar by means of tying it using metal wire.
(Tying must be really secure and firm to avoid any depositioning during
casting.)

• Lay 50mm upvc pipe from earth pit location to test link box location.

• Submit inspection form to M&E supervisor (main-contractor) for clerk of

works (COW) inspection.

• Inspection will be done progressively.
