3. Examine and discuss the evolution of Commonwealth Caribbean democracies from


the Crown Colony system in the nineteenth century to the grant of independence
after the collapse of the West Indian Federation in 1962.

4. A. Compare and contrast presidential and parliamentary systems of


government, using relevant examples.
B. Using examples identify and discuss the significant differences between
the Westminster and Whitehall models of government.

ECONOMY

5. Do you think there are any long-term effects of the plantation system that affect
Caribbean economies today? Justify your answer with examples.

6. We cannot continue to overlook the importance of FDIs to our understanding of


economic policies driving policies changes in our societies. Is the emphasis of such
concern justified? Critical discuss with reference to the Commonwealth
Caribbean.

7. The Ministry of Tourism is interested in promoting your country as a major tourist


destination for the African, Middle Eastern and Asian market. Part of its marketing plan
is to focus on the country’s rich cultural heritage and diversity. You are required to write
a paper thoroughly explaining the concept of culture and two aspects each of both
material and immaterial culture. You are required to provide examples as it relates to
the country. 
8.    What are social problems and why should they be studied? With reference to cited
research, discuss the two causes, two consequences and two measures to address any
social problem in any named contemporary Caribbean society.
