 INTRODUCTION
Ensuring the protection and welfare
of the children is the responsibility
of all of us who interact with children
and young people.Child protection
must therefore be a priority of every
school and must be at the core of
all of its activities.
The purpose of these handbook is to
give clear direction and guidance
to school management authorities
and school personel in implementing
child protection within the school
setting

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
OF THE CPC
• Formulate a school child protection
in cognition to Deped Order No.40
series 2012.
• Identify refer and if appropriate any
case of child abuser,exploitation,violence,
discrimination and bullying in their
own respective areas or location
• Work collaboratively with the
parents guardian,whenever necessary
in seeking and providing guidance
from appropriate offices.
• Build a strong partnership with
Women & Child Protection Desk
Officers of the Barangay and other
Government Organization inthe locality.
• Keep track of the implementation of
positive measures on effective procedures in
providing the necessary support for the
child and for those who care for the child.
• Protect the child from any physical
abuse.
• Secure and protect pupil’s rights,
identity welfare and confidentiality.

RATIONALE
• All elementary schools are directed to
adopt policies to address the existence of
child abuse ,exploitation,violence,
discrimination and
bullying therefore the school will:
• Ensure children that there are adults
• in school s who they can approach if they are
• worried.
• Establish and maintain an environment
where children will feel secure and encourage
talk and are listened to.
• Support pupils who have been abused in
accordance with the agreed child protection
plan.
• Raise awareness of child protection issues and
equip children with the skills needed to keep
them safe.
• Develop and implement procedures for
identifying and reporting cases on suspected
cases of abuse.
• Strictly observed the general welfare of the
pupils inside the school.
• Prohibits corporal or physical and all other forms of
humiliating and degrading punishment to children.
• Support pupils,physical and emotional needs.
