Cancellation for Indonesia's Future"
The struggles of the U-20 national team are in jeopardy due to Indonesia's
cancellation of hosting the tournament, which could result in Indonesia being banned from
the 2023 FIFA World Cup and excluded from international football. The reasons for the
cancellation vary, ranging from inadequate infrastructure problems to political and security
stability, as well as polemic rumors related to the presence of the Israeli national team in their
territory. The U-20 national team did not give up; they realized the importance of fighting for
the future and seizing the opportunity to compete at the international level. PSSI Chairman
Erick Tohir took action by negotiating with FIFA president Gianni Infantino in Europe in an
attempt to free Indonesia from FIFA's heavy sanctions after the decision that FIFA revoked
Indonesia as the host of the U-20 World Cup.
Erick Thohir's negotiations with the FIFA president were successful. Indonesia was
only subjected to administrative sanctions in the form of freezing FIFA Forward funds and
given the opportunity to play, especially at the SEA Games. Everyone is happy with this
decision, and they will prepare the national team seriously. This preparation involves the

national team players playing in their homeland had to be buried. The reason FIFA removed
Indonesia as the host for the U-20 World Cup was because Indonesia's conditions were not

Football is a popular sport worldwide. Everyone knows the game of football. A global
football association has been formed called FIFA. FIFA is the name of that association. There
is even a World Cup for this sport now. Every four years, FIFA holds the World Cup in
different countries. It has been done twenty-one times so far. And this year, Indonesia was
supposed to be the host of the 2023 U-20 World Cup. What has Indonesia prepared?
Indonesia has prepared seriously to become the host of the U-20 World Cup football
tournament. The Indonesian U-20 team will also participate in the competition, which is
planned to take place from May 20 to June 11, 2023.
Six stadiums in six cities have been prepared and renovated with a large budget. The
stadiums are Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung
Regency, West Java, Manahan Stadium in Solo, Central Java, Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in
Surabaya, East Java, Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Gianyar, Bali, and Gelora Sriwijaya
Stadium in Palembang, South Sumatra. FIFA has inspected these stadiums and hopes they
meet the requirements to host the matches.
Besides the stadiums, other preparations include the launch of the mascot, named
"Bacuya," which is a Javan rhinoceros wearing the red and white national team costume. The
Javan rhinoceros is one of Indonesia's unique endangered species. The Javan rhinoceros has
the uniqueness of having only one horn and skin like armor. That's why the Javan rhinoceros
was chosen as the mascot.

on The Political Aspect?”

FIFA's decision to cancel Indonesia as the host of the FIFA World Cup U-20 made
Erick Thohir as chairman of PSSI not silent. He met FIFA President Gianni Infantino in
Doha. After negotiating with the FIFA leadership, the official announcement came out with
the cancellation of Indonesia hosting the FIFA World Cup U-20.
This cancellation cannot be separated from the rejection of the Governor of Central
