Urbanization is a process where the population shifts from rural to urban
areas due to various factors. Due to this, the number of people living in
urban areas increases rapidly. On the other hand, Due to the industrial
revolution many people migrated from rural areas to urban areas for
better employment opportunities.

Urban areas provide many social benefits like better education, better
sanitation, better standard of living, and health care which lead to better
social life in general. Rural areas lack social benefits and services, so
people are migrating to urban areas. Although people think migrating to
Urban areas help, there are some downsides. Urbanisation may lead to
Population increase causes housing problems, development of slums,
unemployment, lack of housing, etc.

Evaluation

In cities and towns all around the world, sustainable urban development
is becoming increasingly important as residents work to lessen their
environmental impact and create resilient, fair, and healthy
communities. Cities must concentrate on three crucial areas: economic,
social, and environmental sustainability. Cities and towns may enhance
their infrastructure and services, lessen their impact on the environment,
and satisfy the demands of their citizens through using strategic
approaches to sustainable urban development.
The use of green infrastructure is one of the most successful strategic
approaches to sustainable urban development. Urban gardens,
permeable pavement, green roofs, green walls, rain gardens, and other
forms of green infrastructure all mix vegetation, soil, and other natural
components into the built environment. These elements are intended to
lessen stormwater runoff, enhance the quality of the air and water,
lessen the impact of the urban heat island, and create green places for
leisure and enjoyment. Green infrastructure may also lower energy use
and increase the overall urban resilience of an area
