Section 3: Today’s Topic: 100% Tie-off and Anchorage Selection Tick (√)
“100% tie off" refers to a safety procedure that requires all workers who are working at height including working on mobile elevated work platform to
be continuously attached to a fall protection system. This means that every worker who is working at height must be securely attached to an anchor
point or lifeline while they are working and exposed to a fall of more than 1.8m. The goal of 100% tie off is to prevent workers from falling and to
protect them in the event of a fall.

Selecting a safe anchor point:

▪ Select an anchor point that is accessible and located in a position that allows you to safely connect to it.
▪ In MEWPS, tie off to the certified anchorage point provided by the manufacturer.
▪ Appropriate for the specific job and is installed by a competent person.
▪ Strong enough to withstand the impact / forces involved in arresting a fall. Must be able to support 5400Ibs (2,500kg).
▪ As high as possible, above the worker to prevent them to minimize fall distance.
▪ To be centrally located as possible, to avoid swing fall.
▪ Inspected regularly to ensure it is in good condition and can still support the weight of the worker.
