3. SUBJECT AND OBJECT QUESTIONS.

3.1 Object questions:

The answer of this questions is the object of the verb. They MUST have an
auxiliary verb. Structure:

(Wh-) + auxiliary verb + subject + verb + complements...?

Examples:
1. When do you prefer to study? I prefer to study in the afternoon.
2. What time do you usually go to bed? I go to bed at 11pm.
3. Which car does your mother use to take you to school? She uses the
small one. 4. Who do you live with? I live with my family.

3.2 Subject questions:

The answer of this questions is the subject of the verb. They don’t need an
auxiliary verb and the verb must be combined in its appropriate tense.

We only use “what”, “which” and “who” with this type of questions.
Structure:

Wh- + verb + complements...?

Examples:

1. Who lives with you? My family lives with me.

2. What is your favourite music genre? Classical music is my favourite


genre

3. Who phones you everyday? My mum phones me everyday.
