What Is a Subject? – Meaning and Definition
A subject is any noun, pronoun or noun phrase that does
the action in a sentence. It is most often found in the
beginning of a sentence.
What Is a Noun?
A noun is a word that names something, such
as a person, place, thing, or idea.
Here are some examples:
person: man, woman, teacher, John, Mary.
place: home, office, town, countryside,
America.
thing: table, car, banana, money, music, love,
dog, monkey.

What Is a Pronoun?
A pronoun is a word that stands in for a noun, often
to avoid the need to repeat the same noun over and
over.
Some examples of personal pronouns are I, you, he,
she, we, they, him, her, he, she, us and them.

What is a Noun Phrase?

and words to describe that noun.
