25" Falcon Bit Plus Reamer Achieve Breakthrough

In Offshore Platform In Middle East 12¼" TKC66 and FalconΤ DL Reamer Set
Challenge: New ROP Field and Time Saving Records
To drill 6 wells on a single Offshore platform, building the 12¼" curve interbedded section from ±30° to ±90° on a In Offshore Platform
Schlumberger RSS BHA. The section is characterized by unstable shale intervals in which excessive reaming time is
experienced.

Solution:
12¼" TK66S-1A was proposed to drill Well#1. A combination of 12¼" TK66S-1A and the 12¼“ Falcon™ DL Reamer were
proposed to drill Well#2 to Well#6. The Falcon™ DL Reamer was placed 140 ft above the bit utilizing the MAPS software.

Results
• Well#1: The 12¼" TK66S-1A successfully drilled the section to TD recording 70hrs Non Drilling Time (NDT).
• Well#2 to Well#5: Introduction of a combined 12¼" TK66S-1A and Falcon™ DL Reamer reduced NDT from
74.8 hrs to 31 hrs, a 55% reduction compared to Well#1.
• Well#6 (Subject Well): Following the successful implementation of the ReedHycalog combined solution
[Falcon Bit Plus Reamer], the client eliminated the reaming run on Well#6, further reducing the NDT to
9.5 hrs, an 87% improvement compared to Well#1. Additionally, optimized drilling parameters led to a
new ROP record [ 81.9 ft/hr] on Well#6.
