4) COMMENTS ON SCOPE OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED

• Thoroughly wash the bearing

• Assess condition of cleaned bearing running, i.e. raceways and rolling elements
and bearing external surfaces, i.e. the bore, outer ring outer surface and brass
cage assembly and associated components

BEARING REMANUFACTURING SERVICES

• Compile a preliminary report documenting the investigation results in which the

feasibility for reconditioning of the bearing is concluded
• Implement reclassification processes to enable polishing of all bearing internal
surfaces, i.e. the inner and outer ring raceways, roller surfaces and cage assembly,
and bearing external surfaces, i.e. inner ring bore, outer ring outer surface and
respective side faces, to enable removal of stress concentrations on
aforementioned bearing surfaces without compromising the cage assembly
• Inspect all polished components and assess success of reclassification processes
• Apply preservative, mark and wrap bearing provided that satisfactory results are
obtained
• Provide a corresponding label for the bearing
• Provide a new box to enable safe transportation and potential storage of the
bearing
• Return the reclassified bearing to the customer

If SKF deems the bearings to be unsuitable for refurbishment and no return shipment is
requested, SKF reserves the right to scrap the bearing/s after 4 weeks have elapsed
from the date of presentation of the quotation / analysis report.

The SKF Remanufacturing Department is confident that the bearing will perform
satisfactorily once placed back into service and after the completion of the
reclassification of the bearing to Level 3*.

• The SKF General Conditions of Repair and Refurbishment Work apply.

• The SKF Policy and Pricing document conditions apply.
