Watch the video about “Music as a Language” and answer these questions:

1. What arguments does the speaker use to state that “Music is a language”?
Because we learn the language at the same time and in the same way as music.

2. According to the speaker, what are the similarities between music and learning
our first language?
Music is already part of us just like language, so we are going to understand both.
That no one has to tell you how to speak or play an instrument.

3. What is the correct way to teach a child how to play a musical instrument?
Teachers should listen the students in what they have to say, because is not about
the instrument or how to spell a world, it is understanding the meaning of it and the
context. Just like the example of the milk that he told.

4. What do you think the speaker meant by the word “freedom”?

Something that little children are born with.
Doing something because it feels right or good for us.

5. Which event led the speaker to come to this conclusion: “If I use my greatness in
the right way, it can help others rise up quickly” ?
when he was in his first year at Stanford University, helping people to get on the
stage to play and he could say to get rid of what they wanted to talk about but
they were afraid but they can use music because it is free so they would feel safe.

6. From your personal experience, what is the effect of music on your life?
For me the music is a way to express myself. And in the past, it has helped me to
overcome difficult moments like anxiety or panic. Also, music always has been
present in the happiest moments ever.
