2022 KS4 Results

Bedford Academy celebrates outcomes with students

Students at Bedford Academy have secured some fantastic results this year despite
the disruption of their studies during the last few years. With 58.3% of our
students achieving 9-4 in English and Maths and 36.7% achieving 9-5 in English
and Maths. Our attainment 8 score was 4.34.

2022 GCSE Results summary

Please note: Two qualifications achieved by the students (GCSE English Literature and an Open Bucket
qualification) have not been included in externally published measures. The DfE took the decision to not
include results achieved in previous academic years. This has had a significant impact on the outcomes
published. The final column of the table below indicates the outcomes including these qualifications.

We were also delighted by the progress made by our students across a broad range of subjects including
Sport Science, Religious Studies and Citizenship. This was alongside the outstanding outcomes achieved
in Spanish. This was the first year group where Spanish was part of our KS4 curriculum with 23.9%
students being entered for a language.

We are delighted for many of our students including: Amelia Jamieson: 6 grade 9’s, 1 grade 8 and a three
Distinction*’s; Helena Bossendorfer: 4 grade 9’s, 4 grade 8’s, a grade 7 and a Distinction*; Praisy Inbaraj:
4 grade 9’s, 3 grade 8’s, 2 grade 7’s and a Distinction*.

We are delighted that so many of our students are staying in education or employment after key stage 4,
with many of them choosing to stay on at Bedford Academy 6th form to continue to pursue their career
aspirations. Students are studying a range of subjects across the different disciplines including Business,
Social Sciences, Maths, English, Creative Media.
