I find more surprising about the issues of cheating because student nowadays have different
ways to cheat and there’s even a survey that proves how students cheat with the use of cellphone.
Also it’s surprising that most students think that cheating is okay and I think it is because most of
the teachers are too generous for students to take this advantage for doing wrong things.

2. If we compare the assessment and grading of students in traditional manner it is more reliable
because you can observe your students’ progress in a real time basis and in face-to-face manner
and you can easily give feedbacks for immediate action to improve that most likely give more
reliable assessment unlike now that we are in online learning it is hard for teachers to distinguish
learners based on their progress because not all the records that teacher collects from his/her
students are valid based on the issues that commonly exist as we transfer from traditional
learning to online learning.

3. I think I still confused and at the same time curious about the new reality in assessment of
student learning when it comes to the focus for formative assessment and summative assessment
because in the perspective of a teacher how they going to accomplish these important things
amidst of different issues and challenges in the new setup of learning. It’s really hard to know if
your students really learn or not, it’s so hard to trust the quantitative data or even the qualitative
data you gathered because we do not know if they really the one who accomplish that task.

4. I think I may apply what I learned here in this lesson in my future teaching profession and
practice of assessment through different teaching strategies. I am now aware of different
challenges for teachers and students in this new normal I will use this idea to be more reflective
to my teaching approach so that I can lessen the challenges that students have so that they
become more motivated to learn. Motivation to learn is more important thing to put in mind of
every teacher because I think if the students are motivated they are more willing to listen and
focus on their progress as learners.

Application

The figure 3.10 that focus more on Assessment of Learning is subjects to evaluating the
learning and understanding of student at the end of the unit, chapter or term. While in the figure
3.11 focus more on Assessment as Learning that subjects for students assessing his/her own
learning while there is ongoing discussion. As we can see there is a big difference from
Traditional Assessment Pyramid and Reconfigured Assessment Pyramid, I think the reason why
there is changes it is because its adopt the changes in our environment because before the
pandemic commonly traditional teacher focus more on the outcome at the end of unit, chapter or
term if there students have acquire all the learning that they are given but because we are now in
online learning it is hard to believe the outcome we collect that is why it change the focus from
assessment of learning to assessment as learning so that it is easy to track down the improvement
of the students so that if there is a necessary action if students have difficulties it will easily fixed
or we can easily help them before we proceed to the next lesson.
