1.

A good mathematics classroom assessment requires that teachers must have a thorough
comprehension of the of the learning goals, have tasks that allow them to see if the learning goals are
being accomplished, and the skills to evaluate the data gathered from these observations in order to
conduct an effective mathematics classroom assessment.

2. Assessment of learning, or summative assessment, is the process of testing individuals in order to

determine their understanding of maths.

3. The early years are especially important for math development. Children’s knowledge of math in
these years predicts their math achievement for later years—and throughout their school career. I
believe that Mathematics is a systematical knowledge, where missing some lessons from the earlier
grades can have an impact on you later years.

Math is so important to children’s success in school, in the primary grades and in

future learning, that it is critical to give children motivating, substantive educational

experiences. It is important to help young children develop their mathematical

thinking. Math is part of children’s everyday lives.

4. Students need dispositions that will enable them to persevere in morechallenging problems, to take
some responsibility for their own learning, and to develop good work habits in mathematics.
Mathematics can be fun if disposition in learning the mathematics have been develop in earlier years.
The lesson in mathematics should be taken step by step and never skip a single step for all the lessons
has a connection with each other.

Students need dispositions that will enable them to persevere in more-challenging

problems, to take some responsibility for their own learning, and to develop good

work habits in mathematics.

5. Content Standards= are broad statements explaining what students should know, care about and be
able to do in each level of learning.

Performance Standards= are used to evaluate what specific, measurable evidence is acceptable. It is a
management approved expression of the performance, requirements or expectations must be met to be
appraised at a particular level of performance.

EACH are important because

6. identify objectives-the knowledge and skills the students need to learn

Plan instruction- the strategies implemented for the students to achieve the objectives targeted in the
previous stage

Implement plan- The stage where learning activities that you have prepared in the planning stage are
conducted.

Check for understanding- to check whether the students have understood what have been covered
Reflect on teaching- evaluate every teaching period that you finished in order to improve instruction the
next time you teach a lesson

Assess learning and reflect on the results- this stage gives you a concrete measure of what the students
have learned

7. -For me, all the stages of the teaching cycle involved the students because from the very beginning
where the teacher identify the objectives, until the last stage where the teacher assess learning and
reflect on the results of the lesson given, it is the students’ need that is prioritized. All the stages
involved how students should gain knowledge or skills in order to learn.

8. -For me, it is the 4th (check for understanding), 5th (reflect on teaching), and 6th (assess learning and
reflect on the results) stages taht requires the teacher to reflect on teaching and learning. In the 4th
stage, the teacher reflects if the students have understood the lesson given or not and the teacher will
decide if the students can move on to another lesson. In 5th stage, the teacher reflects on how to
improve instruction or what needs to be done differently in order to achieve the objectives. And in the
6th stage, the teacher reflects on the results of the assessments given.

9. - These factors will determine the lesson and assist in the student learning. When preparing a lesson,
content should be taken into account because it will help the teacher determine the right lesson to
teach the students. An objective provides the students with a clear understanding of the lesson's main
focus. The quality of learning environment is related to the space and comfort of the students, while the
availability of resources refers to the students' ability to provide the materials required for the lesson

10. -Teachers should follow this guide to make sure that lessons and assessments are in line with
content standards and relevant to the needs of the students in the classroom, therefore it is important
to consult the curriculum guide when planning instruction. The scope and sequence guide for more
information. The guides frequently include ideas for teaching activities and the accompanying evaluation
methods.

11. -Having a fixed mindset is a hindrance to learning since it prevents students from gaining additional
knowledge because it is somewhat limited. It also prevents students from being motivated to learn
more about a certain subject because they believe it to be quite challenging. For example, during my
elementary years, I used to believe that math was difficult and that I couldn't learn more about it since I
had the impression that I couldn't deal with numbers. So, when my teacher is discussing the lesson, I will
not listen anymore because all I think is I cannot do it and its difficult.

12. - I will consider the concepts or procedures I want my students to practice to make sure the word
problems I have given them actually promote problem solving. I'll have my students go through them
and discuss them in class. In addition to how they answered them, I will also ask my students what they
were thinking about as they did so and what confused them and apply that knowledge to sharpen the
problems' better.

13. - Because constructivist learning is inductive, constructivist theory of learning is related to inductive
learning. The notion should come after the action, according to constructivist learning theory, not before
it. When students gain knowledge from a particular activity and understand how that knowledge can be
applied generally, learning has taken place. Constructivism is founded on the idea that students learn by
reflecting on their experiences, but they also develop their own system for understanding the world in
this way.

14. Giving examples and non-examples of the words is one technique to explain concepts in a certain
case. The student can compare and contrast the two words when one is given as an example and the
other is the opposite. This makes it easier to emphasize the characteristics of the word being taught that
set it apart from other words.
