Why is critical thinking skills and problem solving skills important in my teaching profession

*Thinking is a natural process, it just happens. However, there are other ways you may make it happen.
We are capable of thinking analytically, strategically, mathematically, and scientifically. As an educator,
one of the most important skills that we have to possess are critical thinking skills and problem-solving
skills. As for critical thinking skills, it means being able to separate every little detail and analyze how
those little details contribute to the big idea. Critical thinking involves logic as well as creativity. It may
involve inductive and deductive reasoning, analysis and problem-solving as well as creative, innovative
and complex approaches to the resolution of issues and challenges. In problem solving skills, it is the
ability to identify problems, brainstorm and analyze answers, and implement the best solutions.
Additionally, by using appropriate methods to tackle unexpected challenges in an organized manner.

As a professional teacher, we have to impart these skills to our students to promote independent
thinking, personal autonomy and reasoned judgment in thought and action. These skills should be
encouraged inside the classroom. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills have the capacity to take
students on life-changing learning journeys and support the formation of new thinking, reflecting, and
inquiry habits. By honing these abilities, students are better equipped to investigate power dynamics
and encourage revolutionary change in the world around them. So, as teachers,

we have to possess these skills in order for us to pass it on to the students. You can’t pour from
an empty cup. If you have an empty cup, you have nothing to give to someone else. If your cup
is overflowing, you can pour out extra to everyone else. So, we as teachers must possess these
skills in order to be able to teach and share it to our students.
Problem solving skill and critical thinking skill are very useful in every school field. These are
skills that can be cultivated and nurtured so a child can become better at dealing with problems
over time as well as thinking critically over issues. Nurturing these skills develop your students’
independence, allowing them to grow into confident, responsible adults. As far as 21st century
learning is concerned, these skills important factors. Spoon-feeding system in education has
changed for better. It’s an era of better education.

2.3 REFLECTION
Math won't be a students’ least favorite subject if they become familiar with various
multiplication methods in the crucial early years of their academic lives. Many types of
mathematics, including algebra, calculus, equations, and more, use multiplication as their
primary tool. By not relying too much on technology, multiplication skills can help students
develop a sense of independence and teach them how to think independently. It can be viewed
as a type of daily mental exercise that significantly enhances cognitive abilities and foster long
term self-confidence.

3.3 REFLECTION

Division is something that we use daily. It’s important for students to Build a conceptual
knowledge of division. Comprehending what division is all about leads students to develop more
complex division-related ideas, such fractions, proportions, and other things. Long/z Division
may seem outdated, but by teaching it to children early on, they will build confidence in the
subject and be able to use these skills in the real world.
