PROJECT METHOD:
I think Project method is also appropriate teaching
method due to the following reasons.
Your answer shows an idea on these two different approaches. You have clearly
discussed about the concept of early childhood learning. You could have incorporated
some relevant points of Montessori teaching method which provides child focusing
learning, builds social interactions, enhances curiosity, encourages hands on learning,
cooperation, and also promotes self-discipline. You could have also discussed the
principle of Montessori method also learns respect for children, children’s inquisitive
mind, the time intense interest, good atmosphere, and own learning experiences.
Whereas you could have incorporated that by project-based learning student would be
engaged deeply to the content and bringing their focus on the topic which will retain
long-term. You could have added some examples on the basis of your understanding of
the approaches because your answer is too short than the prescribed word limits.
.
3. Discuss whether there is any specific rule for
managing a class of learners between 4 years to 5 years.
Give reasons for your answer or qualify examples. (250
to 300 words)
Answer:
For the class of young learners between 4 years to 5
years, it's always best to keep the classroom rules
short and simple. The more rules you have, the more
difficult they’ll be for young children to remember.
Use simple words for each rule so kids can easily
understand the meaning of the rules.
Adding pictures to the rules in your classroom will help
young children better understand the meaning of the
rules.
Vague or abstract classroom rules don’t hold any
meaning for young children. Abstract rules might
includes words that young children don’t understand or
know the meaning of, like “respect,” “obey,” or
“responsible.” Below are some of the classroom rules
for managing young learners,
• Don't talk or make noise when the teacher is talking.
• Raise your hand if you have something to say.
• Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
• Follow the school rules.
Young children in a classroom must be in an
environment that is safe and comfortable for all the
children, so good classroom management is a must. The
better planned your classroom management is, the
more consistent and organized your routine, the
better they will respond to you, the more they will
learn. It is important to have your management
approach established from the first day, as it is much
easier to establish it early than it is to regain it later.
Children at a young age need to learn how to socialize
and negotiate with one another appropriately, and a
clear management style or plan is part of the learning
that is going on in that classroom.
Your discussion on classroom management shows your understanding to the subject. You could
have included proper communication, use of kind gesture, use of positive reinforcement, group
work are the other ways of classroom management. You could have mentioned that, we can
use varied strategies to manage the classroom. These group of children (4-5 years) are
exploring verbally. Use of new words, its application and communication would make them
engage. You could have added, teacher need to change the strategy depending on situation of
classroom. Friendly approach is always the best way to manage the young learners.
