CONSTRUCTION CONCRETE BASE AND INSTALLATION OF A 24 METERS BY 10 METERS MOBILE

STORAGE UNIT BUBUKWANGA

INTRODUCTION
UNHCR invites qualified and competent firms to bid for the construction of the Protection desks; all
as per designs and specifications provided.

The Scope of Works:

The Works shall include

a) Construction of Concrete Base
b) Installation of Mobile Storage Unit ( Rubhal)

Any supporting document that is not submitted with the bid will be requested for and
expected to be submitted within 48hours. Failure to submit within the stipulated time will
lead to disqualification of the offer
Personnel
The Bidder must demonstrate that it will have the personnel for the key positions that meet the
following requirements: A Contract Manager, Site Agent, and Site Foreman with the following
relevant qualifications and experience.
 The Site Engineer should have a minimum qualification of a first degree in Civil Engineering,
construction management or Architecture from a recognised university and at least 3 years
post qualification relevant experience

  Site Foremen (Civil Work) should have at least 3 years post qualification relevant experience
and minimum qualifications of;
(a) Ordinary Diploma building and civil engineering

Bidders Shall Submit Signed Recent CVs together with Academic Documents of Proposed Key
Personnel. CVs not signed by the proposed site management staff will be rejected and the bid
considered non-compliant.

Equipment

The Bidder must demonstrate that it will have access to the key equipment listed hereafter (either
by ownership, lease, hire): Attach documentary evidence of ownership, lease, hire such as
registration books, agreements or memoranda or purchase order).

Experience
The Bidder MUST provide evidence of Experience is construction projects of similar nature, cost and
complexity as follows:
a) Experience under contracts in the role of Contractor or sub-Contractor, or management
Contractor in at least 3 contracts of similar nature in at least 5 years prior to the bid
submission deadline.
b) Participation as contractor, management contractor, or subcontractor, in at least 3 contracts
within the last 3(three) years, each with a value of at least Thirty million shillings (UGX
30,000,000/=) that have been successfully and substantially completed (at least 70 percent
complete) and that are like the proposed Works. The similarity shall be based on the physical
size, complexity, methods/technology, or other characteristics as described in the
Employer’s Requirements.
c) For the above contracts executed, a minimum experience in the following key activities:
Construction Masonry and concrete structures, Earth works, Civil/Building works,
Copies of Contracts/Agreements and the respective Completion Certificates for completed
works MUST be provided.
