DRAWING TECHNIQUES:

LIST OF DRAWING EQUIPMENT

Please note that the drawing equipment listed below is needed before starting the Drawing Techniques
section of the course:

• Portfolio or drawing tube to store drawings

• A1 size graph paper (1 mm line spacing), laminated if possible

• 300 mm wide roll of detail paper, 25 to 50 grams per sq m

• A2 sheets of tracing paper, 60 to 90 grams per sq m

• Roll of drafting tape

• 0.5 mm Automatic Pencil (e.g. Rotring Tikky) with HB or B lead refills

• Hard eraser (i.e. conventional or plastic pencil eraser)

• Soft (kneadable/putty) eraser

• Black Artline 200 Fine 0.4 mm fibre tip pen by Shachihata

• Black Pentel Sign Pen

• Black Uni Pin Fine Line 0.1 mm pen by the Mitsubishi Pen Co.

• Rolling ruler (e.g. Linex 300 mm Rolling Ruler)

• Circle stencil (with range of circle sizes between 3 mm and 35 mm in dia.)

• Set of French Curves

• Pair of compasses with a universal attachment – e.g. Faber Castell

• Range of lids between 40 and 80 mm diameter from used food containers, jam jars etc.

• Swan Morton No. 10 Non-Sterile surgical blades

• Drawing board brush

• 300 mm long scale rule with 1:10/1:100, 1:20/1:200, 1:5/1:50, 1:1250/1:2500 scales

• Good range of crayons and with a range of greens
