Reading Exercise
I. Read the text and answer the questions.
Millions of people in the world are disabled. For them life is a big
challenge. Read about four young disabled people. What can they do?
Tom Davies is from Bradford in the UK. He is a teenager with memory problems he can act and
he can learn his part. He is in a theatre group called “The Miracle”, they always practice genres
like comedy and tragedy. He likes to make people laugh.
Donna Santos can’t walk but she can direct films. Her films are about the problems of disabled
people. One of his films won a very important award in the industry. Her family was very proud
of her. She can write movie scripts and she can create innovative locations for her movies.
Wei Fong is from Hong Kong. He can't use his arms and hands but he can paint. HOW can he do
this? He can draw and paint with his toes and mouth.
Jimmy Chavez is from California. He can't see but he can play five musical instruments. Can he
sing? Yes, he can! He is a fantastic singer. His jazz concerts are very popular.
