Carmen: Every year since 1822, the independence of our Peru is celebrated in the month of July.
Mafer: We will learn a little more about how is important this month for the country.
Act 1
-A boy and his sister enter the scene-
Rafael: Sister today in class they left us a homework to investigate the Independence of Peru
Rafael: Yes, but it is very long. Could you help me to investigate the main thing?
Danna: Listen, On July 15, 1821, the act of independence of our nation would be signed after constant struggles
towards the total freedom of the people
-The characters enter and the brothers gradually move away from the stage-
Councilors, mayors, clergy and Trustees are observed talking about the future that the country will have with the
signing of the act.

Lara: I bring here the act of independence already drawn up, I paid close attention to the details.
Reategui: Distinguished neighbors sign, as this will guarantee the total freedom of our nation
Snayder (referring to the other alderman): It's time to sign, for a new republic
Pacherre: Hey, do you think that this way the occupation troops will leave us alone?
Chimbo: that doesn't matter! Think of all the appointments we'll be getting when this is over.
Katherine: Impossible, it will never happen with San Martin on our side.
Ormeño: This will be exposed to the public a few days later, right?
Valentino: I hope they don't take away all our slaves. Who would clean my house if not?
Danna: San Martín enters the room; everyone looks amazed and the place remains in silence.
Gabriel: I come here to reaffirm the freedom of the Peruvian people over Spain, this is the result of their constant
struggle, they deserve freedom.
Danna: They all sign and San Martin and the Mayor shake hands, all attendees applaud in the background, this will
give way to the independence proclaimed that same month.
Act 2
-The aunt of both enters the room -
Danna: Regarding the Independence of Peru, we just arrived at the part of the proclamation.
Karla: Sure!
Karla: Don Jose de San Martín proclaims and swears the Independence of Peru in the Plaza Mayor of Lima in front of
the Peruvian people with the following words:
Gabriel: "Peru from This Moment Is Free and Independent by The General Will of The People and by the Justice of
Their Cause That God Defends Long Live the Homeland! Long Live Liberty! Long Live Independence!
Evelia: We will no longer have to live under the shadow of the Spanish.
Elvita: You see, I told you that one day we would leave Spain behind
Karla: Shortly after, San Martin and Simon Bolívar would talk about the future of the country.
Cesar: I could never have General San Martin under my orders
Gabriel: My resignation
Karla: This is how I would start a new chapter of freedom in our nation.
Rafael: Wow, how nice it is to learn more about the history of my Peru and the perseverance of our people.
