Workshop Session Plan

Session Number: 8 Title: Photography and Images

Learning Aim of the session:

Participants will learn the basics of taking and manipulating images, so that at the end of the session participants
are able to communicate with their own youth groups and replicate the experience.

Activity:

Participants will be introduced to studio techniques, taking account of natural light, lighting, background and
space. There will be practice in taking life images, posture and using a model, exploring techniques in
communicating with a model and posing the model. Discussion on different themes, and how these are treated.

Using open-source software (Nik Collection), participants will be introduced to image manipulation and the use of
toning and cropping.
