Lesson Plan in Entrepreneurship

I – Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, the students must have:

1. discussed the meaning of entrepreneurship;

2. defined entrepreneur;

3. identified and explained the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur.

II – Subject Matter/Content:

Topic:

Introduction and Concept of Entrepreneurship and the Characteristics of an Entrepreneur

Materials:

LCD Projector, Laptop, Pictures, Whiteboard marker, Permanent markers, Cartolina, Scissors, and glue

III – Learning Procedure:

A. Preliminary Activities

- Greetings

- Prayer

- Checking of attendance

- Setting of Classroom Standards

B. Review

- The teacher will recapitulate the lesson discussed on the previous

meeting.

C. Motivation

- The teacher will ask questions to students regarding their dreams in life.

Questions:
1. What are your dreams in life?

2. What do you want to be in the near future?

3. What motivates you to pursue that dream?

4. Who inspires you to pursue that dream?

- After asking those questions, the teacher will emphasize to the students that there are those
individuals who are motivated to fulfill their dreams in life because of their status of living.

- Also, the teacher will give a clear example of a particular person who is considered “the richest man in
the country” in the person of Henry Sy, Sr.

*It is to be noted that a video clip about the story of Henry Sy, Sr. will be presented.

D. Lesson Proper

a. Pre – activity

- The teacher will introduce the topic and present the objectives of the lesson.

- The students will be asked about their ideas on entrepreneurship based on the motivational activity.

- The teacher will ask the students with the following questions:

1. What is entrepreneurship?

2. What do you call to a person engaged in entrepreneurial activities?

3. What are the characteristics that an entrepreneur should have to

possess?

b. Activity Proper

The class will be divided into four groups. Each group will choose a leader and a presenter of the
output. They will work cooperatively to identify the different characteristics of successful entrepreneurs
that are given in the box. The teacher will check the output of each group. Then the group reporter will
present the output. Outputs will be rated according to the Scoring Rubrics below.

*Note: A separate activity sheets are prepared by the teacher. Instructions on what the students should
do are also indicated.
c. Post Activity

The scores will be tallied. The teacher will give additional information on the part which she thinks was
not fully understood by the students.

d. Generalization

What have you learned about the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur?

e. Application

- Cite examples of successful entrepreneurs in national and local setting.

- Among the different characteristics of an entrepreneur, which one best describes your personality as a
would-be entrepreneur? Why?

f. Valuing

Appreciate the role of entrepreneurship in helping Filipino families rise from poverty.
