Individual Report – Measurements obtained Week’s 2 & 4

Lab class 1500-1700 Monday, indoor class practical weeks 2 & 4.

The data for this report was conducted over 3 separate weeks where we conducted these fitness tests; standing
board jump distance(SBJ), force plate, vertec, GymAware and 0-10m sprints (time gates). These tests help
finding the bias of GymAware vs Vertec and finding the correlation between 0-10m sprints and force plate.
These tests also helped with finding the reliability of SBJ, vertec and force plate. The bias graph indicates the
upper level of agreement and lower level of agreement.

SD = Standard Deviation, CV% = Coefficient of Variation (SD/average*100), TE = Typical Error (SDD/sqrt(2))

Questions

1. The TE for these tests varies based off the test that was conducted. The TE for SBJ was low at 0.10m
whereas the Vertec had a TE of 2.41cm and Force had a TE of 3.56 meaning that the SBJ had a very
low TE, so the results were very accurate. The other two had a slightly higher TE which means there
was a higher chance of the results being incorrect. The CV cannot be used correctly in these tests as
there is a small number of attempts. These numbers help give a practical perspective as with the SBJ
there is a small TE which indicates that there is reliability of this test compared to the “golden
measure” of the force plate.
2. The Bland-Altman plot indicates that the average of the two tests is 8.6. The results that are within the
graph help indicate that majority of the results are around the Bias line which show that the individuals
that we were testing are around the same fitness level.
3. The relationship between 0-10m sprints and force plate helps indicates that having a faster 0-10m sprint
time will show that you have a higher force plate jump in cm. This means if an individual runs a
quicker time in the 0-10m sprints then they will have a higher cm in their force plate jump.
