Course Purpose & Objectives


• Purpose
– To provide training on workplace drug & alcohol testing and
certification as Assistant Medical Review Officers (AMRO) to the
eligible personnel.
• Objectives
– At the end of the course, the personnel will be able to perform
the following AMRO roles and functions:
• Perform urine sample collection for drug testing.
• Perform urine Point of Collection Testing (POCT) screening for
drugs.
• Handle urine sample for drug testing - packaging, storage and
transporting urine sample to the designated laboratory.
• Perform breath alcohol screening & confirmatory testing.
• Assist MRO (Medical Review Officer) in drug verification process.

7. Reporting & Record Keeping (0.50 hr)
8. AMRO Common Pitfalls & Errors (0.75 hr)
9. Practical & Demonstration Session (2.50 hrs)
10. Q & A Sessions (2.00 hrs)

AMRO Certification
• Upon completion of the 2 days course & passing the exam.
• Assessment/Examination
– 50 MCQs; 75 minutes; Passing mark: 60%.
– Contents are directly based on Lesson Objectives.
– Referenced made to Notes, Slides, Lectures & Practical/Demo.
• E-Certificate, 3 years validity.
• Recertification
– Similar process as the initial certification.
– Can be obtained within 6 months of expiry date.
• Candidates are allowed to sit/re-sit for the exam as many times
as possible within 6 months after the course, after which they
will have to attend the full course again.
• Names of AMRO will be published on AOEMM website.

AMRO Examination
• Physical/Sit-in exams
• Online/Virtual exams:
– Sunday, 20 February 2022. The timing will follow physical
session and/or subject to change.
– Open to anyone who has completed the 2-days physical or
online training. You can choose either BM or English paper.
– Must register in advance, online.
– Exam fee included in the Course fee (RM 1000). Exam fee RM
150 for each re-sit exam.
– AOEMM Secretariat will provide the Joining Instructions and
Examination Terms upon registration.
– You need to familiarise yourself with the system and try it in
advance.

Checklist for Virtual Examination

6 Proceed with the Exam System Trial (optional) or
actual AMRO Examination.

Requirements for Virtual Examination
and Installation
You must have the following to use AOEMM Learning Management
System (Learning@AOEMM):
• Appropriate PC hardware configuration.
• An operating system that has the most recent updates.
• Appropriate speed internet connection (if wireless, a strong signal
and good reception).
• Technical Requirements for the installation
– Only Laptop and Desktop PC is allowed. No smartphone or tablet.
– Windows: 8 or 10 or higher; Mac: OS 10.12 or higher.
– Web camera & microphone (built-in or external).
– A good broadband internet connection, at least a 1.5 Mbps internet
speed as a minimum requirement (both upload and download speed).

Preparation Before Entering the Exam


1. Ensure your Identification Card (IC) is available.
2. Ensure your webcam is ready.
3. Wear proper attire as the whole exam session will be recorded.
4. Ensure your full face (and eyes) is detected (during the facial
detection check). You can tilt your webcam, adjust the PC position,
etc. as necessary.
5. Use plain wall for the background. Avoid sitting in front of
bookshelves, open closet, hanging clothes, etc.
6. Select a suitable & quiet location where you won't be interrupted
or distracted. Good lighting is essential (for environment check).
7. Close all other applications to make sure LockDown Browser can
quickly start, e.g. Microsoft Excel, Words, Teams, Zoom, etc.

AMRO Examination Terms Agreement
Any person registering to sit for the AOEMM AMRO certification examination hereby agrees to
the following:
1. To not share the username, password, and enrolment key with any other person.
2. To sit for the examination without assistance from any other person.
3. To refrain from making any reference to training material such as lecture notes, textbooks,
etc. during the examination.
4. To refrain from taking photo or video or copying any of the questions, and/or to store them in
any format (digital or hard copies) and/or reproduce them in any form.
5. To refrain from communicating or discussing the questions to others in any format (media or
devices) or copy answers from persons seated near you.
6. To refrain from using other additional devices not specified for the examination, such as
handphones, camera, video camera, etc. during the examination. Switch-off and place them
away from your examination area.
7. To refrain from smoking, eating, or drinking during the examination.
It shall be further agreed that any breach of the above terms shall render my participation in
the examination as cancelled and any results obtained thereafter shall be deemed invalid.
AOEMM may at its sole discretion disqualify me from participating in future courses and/or
examination permanently or for a period to be determined by the AOEMM Council.

During Examination
1. Strictly observe and comply with the Examination Terms.
2. Stay tuned to the monitor screen and face the webcam squarely.
Ensure most part of your face is captured.
3. Proctoring is done by the system (LockDown Browser & Respondus
Monitor).
4. The system will record the position/posture of face (and eyes) and
voice throughout the exam period.
5. The system will flag any suspicious activities for examiners’ review
& verification.
6. You may move the exam paper page forward or backward and you
may change your answer at any time before you “submit” your
exam paper.
7. The system will close the exam paper once the time is up.
