KANE ‘KEEN’ ON BAYERN MOVE AND ‘WILL NOT’

SIGN NEW SPURS CONTRACT

Harry Kane is keen on a move to Bayern Munich and will not sign a new contract at Tottenham.

Bayern Munich have seen two offers turned down for the England captain, who has entered the final
12 months of his contract at Spurs. The latest offer from the Bundesliga champions is understood to
have been worth £68.5m plus add-ons and was rejected, with Spurs reluctant to sell the forward.

Spurs had hoped to persuade Kane to sign a new deal and commit his future to the club, but
the Times are reporting that the 29-year-old will not sign an extension despite the offer of a club-
record contract that includes a significant increase on his £300,000-a-week wages.

Kane ‘will not push’ to leave Spurs this summer despite that stance, but his refusal to sign a new deal
leaves the north Londoners facing a difficult decision on his future.

It is believed Spurs would want a fee of around £100m for Kane should he be sold, but the club run
the risk of losing their record goalscorer on a free transfer next summer if Bayern fail to improve
their offer.

Kane would be free to negotiate a pre-contract with foreign sides in January, should he not sign an
extension.

Kane has failed to win silverware in his career to date and a move to Munich would provide a greater
opportunity to lift team honours, with Bayern having won an 11th consecutive Bundesliga title last
season. The Bavarians will also hope to compete for the Champions League next season and their
status as one of Europe’s best teams would enhance with the arrival of Kane.

Ange Postecoglou will want clarity on Kane’s future as soon as possible as the Australian prepares for
his first season in charge at Spurs. The north Londoners have Richarlison and Son Heung-min as
alternatives in a central role, though would look to bring in a young forward to add to their options
should Kane depart.
