A reinforced elevated water tank with different types of column system with full water level in the container has been considered for the E-ISSN 0976-3945 as shown in Table 3,withacceleration transverse ‘component of four earthquakes as shown in Figure 4. The orientation and section of column is also important in deciding the configuration for staging [4]. Several types of configuration can generate by changing the arrangement and pattern of columns. In the present study three types of shapes have been considered like circular, square and rectangle. In rectangular type of column different two type of arrangement are considered in line of outer periphery and perpendicular to outer periphery named as rect_wide and rect_deep respectively. The arrangement of column on outer periphery of staging is as shown in Figure 4. The dimension of the different type of column on outer periphery of staging with variation in panel is shown in Table 2. oo o ote ramet we oe aad (@) Cireular column (4) Squareeolumn os & *% + She 2 Ky es . With considering two-mass water model, seismic responses including sloshing displacement and displacement of tank at various locations from bottom to top were assessed under four earthquake records. The seismic responses of tank have been determined using time history analysis in three cases, i.e. 3-panel, 4-panel, S-panel. The result of sloshing displacement under various time history records are shown in Table 4. Figure 5 shows the graph containing Sloshing displacement for different column proportionality and time history records. The obtained results are summarized as follows: ‘© The critical response depends on the earthquake characteristics and particularly frequency content of earthquake records. ‘+ Sloshing displacement is inerease with the increase in the panel number and increase against high frequency earthquake.
