Data Gathering Procedures

The area where the research is conducted was still under maintaining level-1 COVID-19
measures it means that the researcher still follows safety precautions upon gathering and
investigating data. The targeted respondents of this study were Bachelor of secondary Education
graduated students of batch 2020-2021 from Norzagaray College it was considered the following
technical procedure.

After the validation of the instrument, the researcher secured a request letter to the NC
administrators wherein it is the Researcher instructor whom in-charge of submission since the
study is class research. School records of the respondents are very important that is why the letter
of permission is first present to Registrar office and Guidance office to gather the names and
contact information of the graduated students. Then the researcher contacted each graduate via
Facebook messenger, cellphone number and email address wherein the message contains the
purpose of the study and how they correspond to the predefined criteria of the research.

The researchers randomly selected the respondents by draw lots. The research instructor
also asked for the assistance of the program coordinators through the College Deans. They also
personally communicated with the respondents through text, call, or via Messenger app.

Once they obtained the permission, the questionnaire is forwarded to them, and the
respondents answered the questions included to them via FB messenger and G-mail in a google
form link. The confidentiality of information especially the identities of the respondents are
assured through the issuance of consent and assent forms. The researchers only have the access
to the data being gathered and are not allowed to disclose data to other groups of researchers.

After the respondents have taken the survey questionnaire the answers were checked,
tallied, interpreted, and analyzed.

Sample and Sampling Technique

Probability sampling will be used in this research, the researchers choose the respondents
randomly. The Simple Random Sampling will be the method in this research, the population of
the chosen location will have an equal chance of being selected as the respondents. The chosen
respondents will answer the given questionnaire to gather the needed information in this
research.

The number of respondents is identified using the Slovan’s formula:

n = N/1 + Ne 2
Where n represents the number of samples, N is the number of population and e is the
margin of error, in which the researchers used % margin of error. A sample of students is
obtained after using the formula.
Data Analysis and Treatment

Upon gathering the necessary information from the respondents, the researchers
proceeded to the analysis and treatment of data. The following are the statistical treatment
methods used in the present study:

1. Average Weighted Mean

This will be used to determine the assessment of the respondents with regards to
their personal profiles.

Formula:

x̅ = ∑ fX
N
where:

x̅ is the mean; f is the frequency.

X is the class mark of every class interval; and

n is the total number of respondents.

2. Percentage

This will employ to determine the frequency counts and percentage distribution
of personal related variables of the respondents.

p = f × 100%
n
where:
p is the percentage.
f is the frequency of the class interval; and
n is the total number of respondents.
3. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)
This will be helpful in making comparison of two or more means which enables a researcher to
draw various results and predictions about two or more sets of data.
Steps in ANOVA
1. First step is to compute the total sum of the squares.
2. Second step is to compute the squares between columns.
3. The third step is to compute for the sum of squares within the column
4. To complete the ANOVA table, calculate the mean of sum of squares.
4. Pearson-r
Likert scale
1. Level of Academic Performance
2. Interpretation table for the psychological factor
