Abstract

The study aimed to determine the relationship between food


management practices and the job satisfaction of food handlers. This
study utilized quantitative research through descriptive-correlational
design. Two (2) sets of adapted survey questionnaires were
administered to 150 respondents. A mean score is used to determine
the level of food management practices of hash houses and the job
satisfaction of food handlers. The Pearson r coefficient was used to
determine the significant relationship between the food management
practices of hash houses and the job satisfaction of food handlers. The
findings revealed that the food management practices of hash houses
had an overall descriptive level of very high in terms of organizational
management support, training, employee involvement, food handler
commitment, and organizational food safety performance. Implying
that the food management practices of hash houses were always
manifested. Also, the study revealed that the level of job satisfaction of
food handlers with an overall descriptive level is high in terms of
workplace, management, rewards, recognition, and communication.
Implying that the job satisfaction of food handlers was manifested.
The results indicated that there was a significant relationship between
food management practices and the job satisfaction of hash slingers.
This means that there is a significant relationship that exists between
food management practices and the job satisfaction of food handlers.
Whereas, the overall correlation coefficient of 0.838 also showed that
there was a correlation between the two variables.
