I would like to continue my studies in a management program

that will help me to gain a holistic perspective on how to direct,
lead, plan, and manage all activities within an organisation. The
Master of Science (MSc) in Management Program offered by
ABC University (ABCU) appeals to me because it provides a
balanced combination of management theory and practical
execution for professionals like me who have not previously
studied business and management but want to enhance their
skills in managing at an administrative level. In fact, ABCU
offers learning program that will be critical to my future plans
such as the Innovation Practices program, the Market and
Customers program, and the In uence and Negotiation program.
From these three programs, I plan to gain the knowledge and
skills I need to develop clear innovative strategies and impactful
marketing initiatives to effectively promote the products and
values of companies such as those in Indonesia wishing to invest
in industries like renewable energy. In addition, the In uence
and Negotiation program is of paramount importance to me
because, to be a successful business leader in Indonesia, one
must master the art of persuasion in order to in uence powerful
decision makers to accept new ways of doing things.
Moreover, ABCU has a number of faculty members who can
help me explore ways to successfully promote innovative
products and services to the right customers. Among the special
interests of these faculty members, Professor Jim Smith’s
research is of particular interest to me. His recent work

examines the relationship between the marketing decisions of
tech companies such as Uber and Amazon Go and consumer
preferences. Therefore, If I have the opportunity to study under
Professor Smith, I want to look very closely at his research on
how to promote innovative products to the segments of the
market which hesitate to adopt new technologies, something that
happens quite often in developing countries like Indonesia.
As a fully-funded Government Scholarship awardee, this
knowledge will enable me to make a signi cant contribution to
my country by allowing me to help technology startups in
Indonesia to scale-up and keep pace with the changing needs,
desires, and anxieties of their customers when using new,
innovative technologies.
