Recommended Tools: The FLSmidth Top Service Gyratory Crushers require the same tools that are used to maintain any typical NT Gyratory Crusher, except the Maintenance Trolley.
FLSmidth supplies the following additional
tools assist in maintaining the TS Gyratory Crusher.
Spider Removal FLSmidth’s Bar-Type Spider is bolted to the Top Shell with only four (4) Bolts. On average, it requires two (2) hours to remove the spider. Main Shaft Removal The TS Gyratory Crusher Main Shaft is removed in the same manner as FLSmidth’s NT Gyratory Crusher. The TS Crusher features an integral Lifting Lug forged into the Shaft. This ensures a high quality material, alleviates stress risers, and ensures that the Lug can not be stolen or lost.
Removal takes less than thirty (30) minutes.
Dust Bonnet & Gear Cover Removal The TS Gyratory Crusher is designed with a Dust Bonnet and Gear Cover that protect the Eccentric. This Cover is bolted to the Bottom Shell, and is designed to be removed with an overhead crane during maintenance. Removal of the Cover allows access to the Eccentric Assembly.
Removal takes two (2) hours on average
In the NT design, it would be necessary to access the Hydraulic Cylinder Assembly first, before the Eccentric could be accessed. Eccentric Removal Once the Dust Bonnet & Gear Cover are removed from the Crusher, the Eccentric Assembly can be lifted out with the supplied Lifting Eyes.
Since the majority of maintenance is performed on the
Eccentric Assembly, the TS Crusher is a more efficient crusher as it eliminates the wasteful step of first removing the hydraulic cylinder.
Removal takes less than thirty (30) minutes
Hydraulic Piston Removal The Removal of the Hydraulic Piston requires installation of the Lifting Rod and attachment to the Overhead Crane. The Piston and all its Bushings and Seals are removed as one unit from the Crusher.
Removal takes less than one (1) hour on average
Crusher Reassembly Reassembly of the TS Gyratory Crusher will take the same amount of time as removing the assemblies. Depending on the extent of the Maintenance, some new components may require additional verifications to guarantee alignment and therefore add additional time.
The only instance that the underside of the Gyratory
will need to be accessed is to perform inspection and maintenance of the Lubrication & Hydraulic Lines, therefore a small footbridge underneath the crusher is sufficient for maintenance personnel.
