The purpose of Clinical Internship is to prepare students for further study and advancement
in health care. The instructional program includes subject matter and learning experiences
that provide the student with the basic entry- level knowledge and skills required for a
variety of health occupations.
Clinical Internship offers the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in clinical
settings, while learning about medical terminology, pharmacology, communication,
documentation, standard precautions, vital signs, anatomy and physiology, safety and first
aid and leadership.
Opportunities to develop leadership, social, civic, and vocational skills in health care are
provided through HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). HOSA is an integral part
of the instructional program and offers friendly competition by means of skill and academic
contest at the local, district, and state levels.
