The County of Hunterdon, New Jersey Board of Elections Office would like to take this opportunity to detail for those
Election Jurisdictions considering the purchase of the ES&S ExpressVote XL voting machine the factors which were
considered in our decision to purchase this voting system in 2021.

Smooth Transition for Voters – The ExpressVote XL had a similar look and feel to our previous voting system, making an
easier transition for use by our voters.

Easier Transport and Poll Worker Setup – The ExpressVote XL is a comprehensive, all-in-one paper based ballot marking
and tabulation system which has no heavy parts that District Board Workers are required to lift or assemble.

Voter Verified Paper Trail – The ExpressVote XL gives voters confidence that their vote has been properly cast with the
ability to verify their choices on a paper ballot prior to casting their ballot.

Accessible Voting – The Universal Voting Console is a plug-and-play, easy to use, ADA compliant option for visually
impaired voters. The ExpressVote XL touchscreen also transitions seamlessly to larger print and multi-language displays.

Tabulation and Adjudication Software – The Electionware reporting module and the adjudication software for the
canvassing of ballots containing Write-In or Personal Choice votes or when ballot markings are unclear, is more user-
friendly than other voting systems.

Customer Service and Technical Support – ES&S consistently meets and exceeds expectations for customer service and
technical support. They are reliable and motivated to ensure every election runs smoothly.

The Hunterdon County Board of Elections uses the ES&S ExpressVote XL voting system for Election Days and Early Voting
Periods for all Federal, State, Municipal, and School Elections and will continue to do so confidently in future elections.
