Call for Worship – 1 Corinthians 2.9-11.

However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—
10
these are the things God has revealed to us by his
Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of
God. 11For who knows a person’s thoughts except their
own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows
the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

Let’s pray together 1

Lord, again thank You for our time together morning.

We have hopefully been able to convey something of
the wonder of what we have in our hands as Your
Word, so deeply grateful for it. It daily our food, we
never get enough of it, that’s why we’re here.

And we know that’s why we’re here and we know that

that’s why some people aren’t here because they have
no hunger for this. They have no appetite for this.
1
But what draws us is the bread, the true bread that
comes down from heaven, even Christ and the bread of
the word that feeds our souls. How wonderful to think
about the fact that in all the world we are the people of
the truth.

But we evaluate all things because we have Your mind

revealed in Scripture. We thank You for the revelation,
the content of truth, inspiration, that process by which it
was written down and placed into our hands, and we
thank You for the ongoing and regular work of
illumination.

May we celebrate that and may we be grateful for that

immense gift of an indwelling Spirit. Thank You,
blessed Holy Spirit, for Your work in us. Thank You,
Father, for the plan and thank You, Christ, for sending
Your Spirit to us. Use us, Lord, as we proclaim this
book and its truth to those around us. Be honoured in
that, we pray, in Christ’s name. Amen.

Let's prayer together again 2
The effort this morning to teach you the Word of God
is not as an end in itself. Not for the purpose of having
you have information about Christ, but that you might
know Him. And the salvation He offers, that you might
in your heart understand the sufferings of Christ for
you. And the glory which is to follow, that you may
enter into both by faith in Him.
His death is your death. His life is your life. If you’d
like to commit your life to Jesus Christ today for the
forgiveness of sin. The promise of eternal life, you can
do that in your heart right now the best way you can, as
far as you understand it. You seek the Lord in that
matter.
How could we ever comprehend that in Christ would be
all the fullness of deity bodily, and Christ would come
to live in us. And we would be complete in Him, and
receive from Him all the fullness, and grace upon grace.
Father, this is the wonder of our salvation. This is the
motivation for our worship. And may we lift up our
hearts in true worship as we celebrate this day, we pray
in Christ’s name. Amen.
Benediction

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of
God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holly Spirit
be with you all. Amen.
