Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true,
whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything
is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such
things.  9Whatever you have learned or received or
heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And
the God of peace will be with you.

Let’s pray 1

Father, thank You for the good Word, the great holy


and divine wisdom dispensed to us through this text and
through the amazing life of Paul.  Help us, Lord, to
have those kinds of attitudes, feelings, those kinds of
thoughts, those kinds of deeds which lead to spiritual
stability.  

And, Father, when we are unstable and vacillating and


our hearts are agitated, Lord, help us to do the
inventory.  How about my attitudes?  How about my
thoughts?  How about my practices?  And find there
the problem and find in You the solution.

Fill us with Your Spirit that we might feel the way we
ought to, fill us with Your Word that we might think
the way we ought to. And use those two things to
police our flesh that we might live the way we ought to,
in order that we might enjoy the peace of God and the
God of peace.  Give us that great, great benediction of
Your peace.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let's prayer 2
Father, this is such rich, rich truth and so foundational.
Thank you for laying it out so wonderfully on the
pages of Scripture. We’re so encouraged by it, so
thrilled by it. Help us not to be afraid to confront. Help
us not to compromise truth or righteousness for a false
truce, but to bring the truth to bear, that it may conquer
error. Bring righteousness to bear, that it may conquer
sin and, therefore, bring true peace.
How we thank you that in your mercy and grace,
you’ve sought us out and made peace with us and
made us peacemakers. We are greatly privileged and
deeply thankful. What a high calling. What a privilege.
Work that mighty work in hearts today. We pray in the
name of our Lord Jesus, the Prince of peace. Amen. 

Benediction
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of
God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holly Spirit
be with you all. Amen.
