19-23 – The Great Commission:

Go and preaching the gospels.

Kingston,09/07/2023.

Call for Worship – 1 Corinthians 1.18-22 (NIV)

18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those
who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is
the power of God. 19For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
20
Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the
law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not
God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since
in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did
not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness
of what was preached to save those who believe.

Let’s pray 1 –
Our Father, we thank You for this tremendous portion
of Scripture. We thank You for the clarity with which
the gospel is presented through the cross of Jesus
Christ. Oh God, we just rejoice in the cross.
Our souls love it, for it is that by which Thou didst
purchase us. Oh God, Thy grace is multiplied and
manifests in the fact that You still call sinners to
repentance– to join in Your Kingdom.

1
Thank you, Father, this morning, for what You have
done, are doing, and will do, all secured, because
faithful is God. In Jesus’ blessed name, the One who
saved us, Amen.

Let’s Pray 2 –
Lord, we’re so enriched by the truth of Your Word.
We’re so captivated by its glory, its brilliance, its
consistency, its power, its clarity, its beauty, and by its
fulfillment.
All that the Old Testament said pointed like one
massive revelatory arrow right at Jesus as the Messiah -
the chosen, anointed King/Priest/Prophet; the great
High Priest; the Living Word; and the King of kings,
who fulfilled every prophecy, including the to
empowers us for preaching the gospel.
Father, now work in all our hearts. Give us a full picture
of the glory of our Saviour, and open hearts to see the
One they have not yet seen until this very day. Grant
that the darkness would disappear, and the ignorance
would be gone, and they would believe Jesus is the
Messiah, the Son of God, and believing, have life in His
name.

Benediction

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of
God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holly Spirit
with you all. Amen.
