Self -Assessment Continued.

Answer the following in complete sentences:

1) What math concepts did you use when completing this task? (minimum- 4)

When completing this task, I utilized several math concepts:

a) Graphing equations: For instance, I used linear equations to represent straight lines, quadratic equations to depict
curves, and other equations like those of ellipses to depict certain features.
b) Transformations: I applied translations, reflections, and rotations to position and orient the different elements of the
self-portrait.
c) Trigonometry: I employed trigonometric functions like sine and cosine to create circular or wave-like patterns.
d) Coordinate geometry: I used Cartesian coordinates to map out the points and plot the equations accurately.
e) Symmetry: I incorporated symmetry concepts to ensure balance and proportion in the self-portrait design ,
including mirror symmetry for facial features.

2) What were your strengths when completing the assignment? (minimum- 3)

My strengths when completing the assignment were:

a) Creativity: I was able to think outside the box and come up with unique ways to represent my features using
various equations and lines.
b) Problem-solving: I approached challenges with a logical mindset and explored different strategies to overcome
them.
c) Attention to detail: I paid close attention to the accuracy of the equations and lines, ensuring that they represented
the intended features as closely as possible.

3) What were your weaknesses when completing the assignment? (minimum- 2)

My weaknesses when completing the assignment were:

a) Equation selection: I sometimes struggled to choose the most appropriate equations to accurately represent specific
facial features or other elements.
b) Time management: I found it challenging to allocate enough time to research and experiment with different
equations, leading to some rushed decisions.

4) What were some challenges you encountered? What could you do to improve in the future? (minimum- 2)

Some challenges I encountered were:

a) Accuracy of representation: It was difficult to find equations that perfectly matched the intricacies of certain facial
features or details.
b) Balancing complexity: I faced the challenge of creating a self-portrait that was visually appealing while also being
feasible to implement within the constraints of the graphing calculator's capabilities.

To improve in the future, I could:

a) Enhance my equation selection skills by studying more mathematical functions and their graphical representations.
b) Plan my time more effectively, allowing for ample experimentation and refinement of the self-portrait.
