Project title: How to navigate the Nearpod Homepage

BACKGROUND & CONTEXT

I used Camtasia to create a video about “how to navigate your Nearpod homepage.” This
video is developed especially for educators to help navigate their homepage, since through
Nearpod, educators can provide slide-based learning resources that are interactive and
engaging for student learning. Teachers can also create lessons from scratch or use the
existing library which includes more than 15,000 lessons and videos for all grades to get up
and running quickly. Therefore, through the provided video, I demonstrate the navigation of
the Nearpod homepage to help and encourage educators in using this tool.

DESCRIPTION:
Camtasia is a software suite, created and published by TechSmith, for creating and recording
video tutorials and presentations. To develop my tutorial, I first recorded my audio using
Audacity tool. Then, I used the recording screen feature in Camtasia. I added the audio and
the recorded screen on two different tracks and merged them until the speech fit the picture. I
did not forget to use the zoom-in feature to draw viewers’ attention to key actions of the
Nearpod. Next, I created an intro and outro to the video using both features in Camtasia, and
lastly, I added background music on another track that I chose from the library. I paid close
attention to every audio-visual detail to develop my video perfectly.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTION JOURNEY:

The challenges that I encountered while creating this tutorial video are:

- Recording my voice several times using Audacity until it worked.

- Accurately combining audio with the recorded screen.
- Using Zoom In animation in the right place.

I managed these difficulties and challenges by reading the Camtasia and Audacity guides and
watching YouTube tutorials.

WHAT DID I LEARN?

One of the things that I learned from Camtasia is the importance of having creativity and an
active imagination. It helped me think like a director or video editor when editing and using
effects. Through this tutorial, I would like to facilitate educators’ navigation of the Nearpod
platform to help them create interesting interactive lessons whether in the classroom or
virtual and benefit as leading teachers. I find that this approach to education makes learning
more engaging and fun for students.
