Admission to Higher Degree (HD) Programs

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES OFFERED PROVISIONAL ADMISSION TO HD PROGRAMME

1. Check the website https://www.bitsadmission.com to find out the Higher Degree programme to which you have been
offered admission.

(a) If this offer is acceptable to you, please pay an amount of Rs. 2,98,900 (sum of Admission Fee and one Semester fee as
per the fee structure for the HD programme of the Institute) so that the same is received in the Admissions Office, BITS,
Pilani 333031(Rajasthan) latest by 5.00 P.M. on 20th May, 2023. Details on payment of rest of the fee amount including
hostel fees, mess and electricity advance, etc. will be communicated later. Please read the instructions carefully with regard
to refund/forfeiture of fee mentioned under item no. 3 below, before making payment of requisite fees.

(b) The fee payment can be done online once you accept the offer.

(*Slide-Up : Whenever you are admitted to a programme, you are kept on a waiting list for programmes of your higher
preferences. Until all admissions for I Semester of 2023-2024 are completed, any vacancy in any programme caused by non-
acceptance of the offers will be filled by offering the vacant seat to the next candidate in the order of merit. This process is
called ‘Sliding-Up’. According to the Institute rules, your acceptance of the admission offer implies that you will be
automatically considered for sliding up to programme of higher preference as indicated in your application form, under the
above circumstances)

Important : It may be noted that a candidate who does not pay fees as per the prescribed deadline (5.00 P.M. on
20th May, 2023) will not be considered any further in the admission process. The Institute reserves the right to
conduct further iteration(s) only if deemed necessary. Candidates will be informed of the further iteration dates as
applicable, on the admission website.

(c) In addition to the advance fees specified above, between 1st August 2023 and 8th August 2023, you will be
required to pay a fee towards Hostel, Mess & Electricity Advance, Institute Caution Deposit, Students’ Union
Fee etc. through a bank link provided on the Admissions website. Please check this website on 31st July 2023
for further information / payment link. The following amount will have to be paid by the candidates:

Rs. 44,475/- for Pilani campus, Rs. 50,925/- for Goa campus and Rs. 50,925/- for Hyderabad campusc.

2. Additional Instructions

(a) This formal admission offer is subject to verification of all documents against originals at the time of reporting failing which
the provisional offer of admission to BITS Pilani will stand cancelled.
(b) Finalization of the admission is subject to the following:
I. Fulfilling all the eligibility criteria as listed in the admission brochure.
II. Being found medically fit by a registered medical practitioner (candidates to fill the proforma attached with this letter)
III. Submission of the following original mark sheets and certificates with a photocopy of each (for verification):
 Matriculation/10th pass certificate
 Mark sheet or grade card for all years/semesters of the qualifying Degree
 Final/ provisional Degree certificate of the qualifying Degree
 GATE score card with a self-declaration/ certification for those whose admissions are made on the basis of GATE score.
 3. Instructions regarding refund/forfeiture of fee:
Below are different refund clauses that will be applicable for HD students:
I. If a candidate, who is offered admission, accepts the offer by remitting the above fees, but withdraws his or her application by
8th August 2023, he or she will forfeit Rs. 1000/- and his/her admission will be stand cancelled.
II. If a candidate, who is offered admission, accepts the offer by remitting the above fees, but fails to register for I Semester 2023-
24 (exact date to be announced later), then he or she will forfeit 10% of the aggregate fee (Admission fee and one Semester
fee).
III. If a candidate completes all admission formalities, but subsequently withdraws within 15 days from the registration date, he/she
will forfeit 20% of the aggregate fees paid (viz. Admission fee, one Semester fees, and hostel fee) at the time of confirming
his/her admission plus actual expenses incurred towards mess and electricity usage.
IV. If a candidate withdraws within 16th to 30th day from the date of registration, he/she will forfeit 50% of the aggregate fees paid
(viz. Admission fee, one Semester fees, and hostel fee) at the time of confirming his/her admission plus actual expenses
incurred towards mess and electricity usage.
V. If a candidate withdraws after 30 days from the date of registration, he/she will forfeit the entire amount and no refund will be
made to him or her.
VI. All applicable refunds will be completed within 45 days from the closing date of admissions.

4. ASSISTANTSHIP (STIPEND AND FEE WAIVER)

Candidates admitted through GATE / GPAT will be normally eligible for a tuition fee waiver of Rs. 13,400/- per month over
and above the GATE / GPAT scholarship that they will receive. The fee waiver will be in lieu of 6 - 8 hrs. of work per week.
