On flights with no crew change or when incoming crew is met by


outgoing crew, complete the Parking Checklist down to and including
the "INS ACCURACY CHECK." Accomplish the first four items imme-
diately upon gate arrival prior to reference to the checklist and then

Jettison rate is reduced if only one pump is operating in each


tank.
At least one pump must be operative to jettison fuel from each
respective tank.

Selects tanks from which fuel is to be jettisoned.

To maintain adequate fuel in the inboard compartments of 2L &


2R, intransit lights will cycle depending on transfer rate from
outboard compartments.

If XFRs are not illuminated, latch the appropriate gravity


transfer valve switches.

NOTE: Fuel jettison/dump is not required in order to reduce to


maximum structural landing weight if the Captain
determines the aircraft can be landed safely at the
existing weight. Verify allowable weight in Take-off and
Landing Data Manual.

squibs.

NOTE: The red Fire light should begin to flash indicating the auto timer
has started. The DSCH light will be illuminated in approximately 30
seconds; the green armed lights for bottle numbers 2, 3 and 4 should
be illuminated. ANYTIME the green lights are illuminated, bottles 2, 3
and 4 may be discharged by pressing the AUTO/MAN DSCH switch
overriding the timer.

If bottle numbers 2, 3 and 4 have not discharged automatically:

orderly and rapid passenger evacuation. Instruct Flight Atten-
dants to leave aircraft when their areas are clear.
- Check entire cabin to ensure that all passengers have evacu-
ated. Then exit via door 4L or 4R.
- Assemble passengers away from aircraft.
- The Captain will ensure that one or more crewmembers remain
with passengers until relieved by ground personnel.

FIRST OFFICER - ASSIST OUTSIDE AIRCRAFT


- After radio communication duties completed, immediately go to
cabin and assess conditions. Take Halon extinguisher, if
needed.
- Exit via first usable door and assist outside as necessary.
- Assemble passengers away from aircraft.
FLIGHT ENGINEER - ASSIST IN CABIN
- After Ground Evacuation checklist is completed immediately go
to cabin and assess conditions.
- Proceed to any mid-cabin door (2L, 2R, 3L or 3R) NOT in use. If
conditions permit, open door and deploy slide; otherwise
redirect passengers to nearest usable exit.
- When area is clear, exit via the same cabin door.
- Assemble passengers away from aircraft.
CONCURRENT FLIGHT ATTENDANT DUTIES
- Senior Flight Attendant will obtain TEST information from flight deck.
T - Type of emergency?
E - Is evacuation going to be necessary?
S - Signal for evacuation?

SINGLE ENGINE DRIFTDOWN

1. Immediately increase thrust on the operative engine to .700 EPR


and maintain altitude while decelerating to 270 kts (weight less than
approximately 440,000 lbs).
- Determine actual driftdown IAS for aircraft gross weight from
chart below (Speed Schedule).
- Determine actual MCT EPR required.
See QRH, page PERF.12.
- Determine actual In-Flight N1/ Two Engine Inoperative. (See QRH
page PERF.13).
- Adjust driftdown EPR and IAS as altitude is lost during driftdown.
2. Jettison fuel, if necessary, to attain chart Gross Weight/Altitude
combination.
- See QRH, page PERF.14
While fuel jettisoning should be considered, the driftdown to 15,000
feet is not significantly affected at higher weights. Fuel dump rate
is approximately 4500 lbs/min.
3. Before jettisoning is complete, check the TOTAL RANGE CAPABIL-
ITY chart QRH, page PERF.15 to determine the fuel required to reach
the desired alternate. Stop fuel jettison at this amount.
- The TOTAL RANGE CAPABILITY chart includes credit for driftdown
from cruise altitudes. Do NOT add driftdown distance to these

(1) The speed of 280 kt (0.8 Mach) reserved for turbulence conditions shall be used for holding
only after prior clearance with ATC, unless the relevant publications indicate that the holding
area can accommodate aircraft flying at these high holding speeds.

NOTE: Holdings calculated in accordance with the Second Edition criteria should
not be flown at higher holding speeds as the lateral limits of the holding
area are larger when the holding speed is higher. The obstacle clearance
or separation may not be guaranteed when these holdings are flown at
the new higher holding speeds.
