1. What is the hortatory exposition text?

=> Hortatory exposition is a type of spoken or written text that is intended to explain the
listeners or readers that something should or should not happen or be done.

2. Mention the structure of hortatory exposition.

=> Introduction or Thesis (It consists of the author's point of view (thesis), preview of the
arguments that will follow in the next section, and a question or emotional statement to get
audience attention).

- Arguments (This part is significant to support about the thesis. It presents the reasons for
concern, leading to recommendation).

- Recommendation (Statement of what should or should not happen or he done based on the
given arguments)

3. What is the difference between hortatory exposition text and analytical exposition text?

=> In hortatory exposition text, the writer uses a text or speech that presents arguments or
reasons to influence listeners or readers that something must be done or not done.
Meanwhile, in analytical exposition text, the writer uses his arguments and opinions to
convince the reader about the importance of the topic being discussed. However, they are not
trying to influence the reader to do something. In terms of structure, hortatory exposition text
consists of Introduction or Thesis, Arguments, and Recommendations. While the analytical
exposition text consists of theses, arguments, and reiteration.
