5. Light Source Debugging Setting
◆ After the lamp information setting is completed, it is recommended to turn down the
power current to minimum before the lasers are switched on for the first time.
◆ Check and confirm that all light paths are unblocked, light up the light source and
open the dowser.
◆ After switching on the light source, set the current parameters according to the
brightness requirements .

• After retrofit, in order to prevent the internal damage caused by

retrofit error, the current should be adjusted to minimum before
lighting up the light source.
• Projectors need to reset the lamp information periodically to
eliminate the error.

36
5. Light Source Debugging Setting
◼ Light spot adjustment
The light spot adjustment ensures that a maximum amount of light from the light source
enters the light processor in a uniform way.

◆ Reset the Lamp information using the Cinionic RGB+ lamp file. Switch ON the Light
Source. Put it at maximum power.
◆ Remove the protective cover from the exit reflector (see next page).
◆ Allow the light source to stabilize (15mins).
◆ Connect to the projector using Barco Communicator and show a white test pattern
◆ Use a spectrometer to measure the onscreen brightness pointed at the center.
◆ Use Barco Communicator to read the information from the CLO (Light sensor) in
Installation / Lamp / Lamp alignment.
◆ Adjust the incident angle of the reflector (see next page).

37
5. Light Source Debugging Setting
◼ Light spot adjustment
◆ Step 1:Dismount the cover assembly.

Remove 3 M3 hexagon captive screws and

the protective shield.

◆ Step 2:Adjust incident angle of the reflector.

− Adjust screw ( C ) until maximum brightness is achieved on screen
− Adjust screw ( A ) until you have the best uniformity on screen
− If needed, use again screw ( C ) and ( A ) until you have the best brightness /
uniformity.

after adjustment .

• Non-trained users do not operate.

• Avoid looking at the light spot directly when adjusting. You need to
wear professional protective glasses.

◼ Color Calibration
New color correction (MCGD)
Perform a new color calibration using a spectrometer

 Color spectrum is different than Xenon

 No Notch filter anymore

 New MCGD is needed to reach DCI targets

 The procedure is the same as Xenon projector

 Do MCGD for 2D (Flat, Scope) and 3D (Flat, Scope)

6. Daily Maintenance
6.1 LDM filter

◆ Removal and installation instructions

− Dust filter is located at the bottom of the projector, which is the air inlet port. There
is a fixed clamp and an adjustable one the other side of the filter.
− Press the adjustable clasp on one side of the spring and pull out the fixed clamp
from the hole in the projector bottom cover at a certain angle.
− First insert the fixed clamp sideways into the hole on the base, then press the
adjustable one and aim it at one hole.
◆ Cleaning instructions
− Use a vacuum cleaner or brush to clean the air inlet side of the filter if there is too
much dry dust.
− Beat or shake the dust-prevention parts slightly to remove dust.
− Immediately replace the filter in case of damage or when contaminated with grease.
◆ Frequency of cleaning/replacement
− Clean the sponge every 3 months and replace it every year. More often when
installed in dusty environments.

◆ Removal and installation instructions

− Remove the right rear cover of the projector after confirming that the machine is
completely powered off.
− Lift up the filter cover then pull out the blue dust sponge for cleaning.
− Re-install the filter and the dust cover after cleaning.
− Washing is not recommended because it is made of electrostatic absorption
materials. Washing may affect the dust-prevention effect.
◆ Frequency of cleaning/replacement
