1.PURPOSE

The raw water treatment system removes colloids, suspended solids, ions, and kills microorganisms in

the raw water, Improve the quality of raw water and reduce the running burden of the pretreatment

equipment, Prevent scaling, fouling and microbial contamination in RO and EDI equipment, This is the first

step and a very important and critical step in the safe and stable operation of the desalted water

treatment system.
2.SCOPE

This manual applies only to the operation of the Noor II ﹠ III raw water treatment system

3.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The water treatment operator is responsible for the water treatment and supply water to whole plant,

and has jurisdiction over the entire chemical water treatment equipment, structures and their site. During

the hour on duty, the water treatment operator shall correctly start, run and stop the water purification

equipment according to the regulations, and carry out the water sample analysis and record of each

section of the water treatment on time.

6.3 SYSTEM INTRODUCTIONS

This project raw pretreatment system with 2 integral mechanical accelerated clarifier, the rated
total water treatment is 120m3/h, and the single seat water yield is 60m3/h.
low turbidity conditions, the normal influent sediment concentration ≤ 0.30Kg / m3, Short-term water

into the water is not more than 0.5Kg / m3.Dosing system service water is 120 ~ 150m3 / h.
Clarifier removal of ions, suspensions and colloids in water by coagulation, clarification, filtration,
sedimentation, etc.
Raw water in the pipeline Blender and fungicide after the full mixing, with sodium hypochlorite
sterilization effect, to ensure that follow-up treatment of membrane elements are not contaminated.

6.3.1 CLARIFIER WORKING PRINCIPLE:

Raw water in the clarifier reaction chamber under the action of the stirring impeller, complete mechanical

reaction, so that the raw water after the static dosing Blender produced by the micro-flock and the

original flow of mud in the original re-collision adsorption, the formation of large flocks, and then raised

from the impeller to the second reaction chamber, and then by the ramp area,to accelerate the collision

between particles, So that the suspended matter to form a larger particle. Resist the buoyancy of water,

forming a precipitate, scrapped by the scraper, through the bottom of the mud tank control discharge,

and the rise of water from the catchment leads, to achieve the effect of clarification of raw water

clarification.

6.3.2 USE AND APPLICATION RANGE OF BLENDER AND SCRAPER:

( a ) The blender and scraper are the main equipments for the mechanical accelerated clarifier. the
clarifier is used for potable water and process water treatment. The Blender plays the role of mixing and
lifting in the mechanical accelerated clarifier. The scraper plays the role of scraping sludge in the
mechanical accelerated clarifier.

( b ) Influent suspended solids content: When there is a mechanical mud scraper1000 ~ 5000 mg/L,
within a short period of time not more than 10000mg/L.
6.3.3 BLENDER AND SCRAPER STRUCTURE AND WORKING PRINCIPLE:

( a ) The blender is mainly composed of a driving device, blender main shaft, a lifting impeller and a
stirring slurry component; The scraper is mainly composed of driving device, transmission shaft and mud
scraping rake.

( b ) working principle: The impeller at the bottom of the impeller completes the reaction in the first
reaction chamber of the clarifier after the medicine is mixed , the micro flocs and the original alum
flowers in the sludge are repeatedly collided and adsorbed, and larger flocs are formed, then the impeller
is lifted to the second reaction chamber, and then separated by the baffle to the clarification area. the
rising water is drawn from the draft pipe,The sludge is returned to a reaction chamber at the lower part
of the clarification zone , scraping by scraper, through the bottom tank discharge valve to control the
discharge,achieve the effect of clarification and separation of raw water.

6.4 DOSING SYSTEM :

This dosing system including dosing coagulant, coagulant aids and dehydration flocculants
system,Service water is 120 ~ 150m3 / h.
dosing system is responsible for the Clarifier, sludge thickening pool and sludge dehydrator
dosing , The coagulant is polyaluminium chloride (PAC), and the coagulant is polyacrylamide
(PAM).

6.4.1 USE AND PROFILE:

In the water supply and drainage process, commonly in adding all kinds of chemical agents, as coagulation
, coagulation aids and disinfection and sterilization, in order to achieve the purpose of water purification.
these agent are solid particles ,liquid and colloid ,in the dosing process must be dissolved, diluted and
dosing than the amount can only get the best results ,so the dissolving drug dosing device is a water
treatment equipment commonly used in the project one.

6.5 SLUDGE PROCESSING SYSTE

6.5.1 DESCRIPTION:

Thickening is a kind of method to reduce sludge volume .during the course of sludge treatment ,normally
use thickening method as pretreatment of dewatering .sludge dewatering mechanism requires sludge
sludge water content less than 97%,however,sludge water content discharged from 2nd precipitation
tank is 99.2-99.6% , and sludge water content discharged from common precipitation tank in about
98%.so in order to meet running condition of dewatering equipment ,a sludge thickening tank with hang
type of center driven thickener is necessary.

6.5.2 SRUCTURE:

Center driven thickener is mainly composed of distribution tube ,drive mechanism grid assembly scraping
arm assembly,scraping plate assembly bottom bearing assembly,balance arm assembly,transmission
shaft and center major shaft,effluent weir plate etc.

6.5.3 WORKING PRINCIPLE:

Sludge enters into thickening pond via the center distribution tube,retention time in the pond is above
12 hours. the center driven thickener has vertical arranged grids, which pass through sludge with scraping
arm rotation thus agitating sludge slowly, and helping to discharge water and air in sludge .upper clear
liquid will be discharged by rim water collecting trough by scraping plate .the concentration is determined
according to factors of sludge composition, performance ,with coagulant(coagulant aids) or not
requirement of next dewatering process. generally ,sludge water content may low down ≥3%
sludge discharge program, Can be opened by remote PLC command sludge valve, By the net pressure mud
to sludge thickening pond, shall take reliable measures (set the industrial pressure water pipe backwash)
to ensure smooth sludge discharge, do not clog or silt the sludge.
6.5.4 SLUDGE THICKENING POND:

sludge thickening pond receive sewage of clarifier, thickening pond treatment wet sludge 2.5
m3/h,designed into the mud moisture content is 98%, outlet mud moisture content is 96%.

sludge thickening pond drain sewage to sludge dehydrator. one sludge dehydrator,the water content of
imported sludge of dehydrator is 96%, and that of export sludge is 70%~75% ,the amount of wet sludge
treated by a single dehydrator is 10m3/h, and the maximum amount of dry sludge removed is 1.5 t / h.

6.6 PRE-START CHECK FOR RAW WATER TREATMENT

6.6.1 PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES:

a) make sure that the operating equipment is powered on and the pump is in a good standby state. before

running check the Blender, run normally, lift flexible, scraper running normally.
b) check the inlet and outlet pipes, the sink sampling tube, drainage pipe, emptying pipe, water pipes,

dosing tube and so on.


c) check the valve, opening and closing is normal and flexible.
d) dosing system can be normal operation, liquid level normal. confirm the coagulant and coagulant
dosing system have been put into operation, prescription normal. Concentration appropriate. And

according to the actual situation to adjust.


e) electrical control system safe operation, flexible action.
f) the sludge system can be normal operation.
g) When the water is stopped, the scraper will continue to run for 20 minutes and then stop.
h) Pre-settling pond When the short time to stop the pond, the Blender to continue to run, to prevent the

sludge sink, stop the pond for a long time should be mud net or vent to prevent scraper rake.
k) sampling tube, the mud pipe should be regularly washed with pressure water to prevent clogging.
l) reducer temperature rise normal (not more than 40 ℃) oil-free leakage

6.6.8 ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS MEASURES:

a) , The Blender and scraper operation, the ambient temperature should not be higher than 40 ℃.
b), outdoor temperature below 0 ℃ when the relevant pipeline to do the anti-freeze measures.
c), there should be a smooth channel around the equipment. The ground should be slippery and kept dry

and clean. Try not to store equipment, parts, etc. in the vicinity of running equipment. Pay attention to

ensuring that all venues are illuminated for easy operation and maintenance.

6.7 SYSTEM STARTUP

6.7.1 CLARIFIER START :

a) Start the raw water intake pump, Fill the pond with the same time dosing.
b) Start the scraper when there is no mud in the pond. Blender, this time should be controlled to reduce

the amount of water and should pay attention to the impeller opening and speed to moderate. And
gradually increase the speed, to strengthen the mixing, If the sludge is loose,, small particles or lower

water temperature turbidity may be appropriate to add clay to promote the formation of sludge

(generally to control the reaction chamber turbidity of 2000-3000 degrees is more better) , It is also

possible to put the slag of the existing clear pond into the newly run clarifier, To shorten the time of the

formation of sludge.
c) Adjust the inlet water and the speed of the Blender scraper, Raise the speed and the opening of the

inlet valve as far as possible without disturbing the clear area, Find the best combination of opening and

speed

6.8 SYSTEM SHUTDOWN

6.8.1 SYSTEM SHUTDOWN:
