HIS PROMISES ARE YES AND AMEN

Your progress is evident

Introduction;

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to
the glory of God through us.

“Promises” = All these things = financial, physical, emotional, relationship with

God.

“In Him” means In Christ Jesus

“Yes” = WE HAVE BEEN BOUGHT... God purchased our bodies for both now and the
future!
• WE ARE NOT OUR OWN... 1Cor 6:19c
1. By the blood of Christ - Ac 20:28; 1Pe 1:18-19
2. Both body and soul - 1Co 6:19-20
3. Thus we also look for the redemption of the body (i.e., resurrection) -
Ro 8:23
“AMEN” = ALL THE GLORY, ALL THE HONOR, HIS NAME IS GREAT AMEN; ‘So be it’, Agree
with,

What(anything/whatever) we say exposes(demonstrate) the mindset(attitude) we are

holding(have)/possess in our hearts.
(What comes out of the mouth reveals our heart attitude.) = the heart responds to a
difficult situation.

Proverbs 23:7 - “As a man thinks in his heart so is he”.

Priority = The principal thing, the 1st in a rank of importance.
= The primary focus, placing in order of importance.
· When your priorities are right you preserve time, energy, life.
· Matthew 6:35 - “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness…”

1. Yes! God is a God who restores; (In spite of Sin – Yes God promises
Restoration )–

Tit.2:14 “who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and
purify for Himself, His own special people, zealous for good works”

“Zealous” = NT2207 Burning with passion, strongly contending for something.\We are
called to be busy, proactive, passionately advancing the Kingdom of God.

·         Jesus gave up His life on the Cross for a purpose – not just to get us to
heaven.
·         He redeemed us – pay the full ransom price to free a captive – for a
purpose.
·         Jesus wants us to be a people that are unique, special (lit. beyond
usual, belonging to God)
·
·         Tit.3:8 “… those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain
good works”
·         Tit.3:14 “Let our people learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent
needs that they be not unfruitful”.

2. Yes! God’s design is for us to conquer.

Romans 8:37 “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who
loved us”.

“More than conquerors” = gain surpassing victory in every situation.

“Through Him” = we are joined to the King of Kings, the one who has overcome the
world.

We are no longer victims, powerless, at the mercy of circumstances – we are more

than conquerors.

1 John 5:4-5
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has
overcome the world—our faith.
5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of
God?

“Overcome” = Nikao  (Nike) = to prevail, get the victory, conquer.

This is our victory that even overcomes our faith.

What is it that God wants me to be accountable/liable for?

(What does God expect me to be responsible for?)

a. Meditate His WORD (Connect with heart and identify desires, make plans) and
interact with God.
• Prov.16:1 “To man belongs the plans of the heart, but from the Lord
comes reply of tongue”.
• Prov.16:9 “In his heart man plans his course but the Lord directs his
steps”.

• You cannot remain neutral or passive – Matt 25 – Talents – initiative.

2Cor 1:20 “…to the glory of God through us”

through us = dia - channel

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

2Cor 8:5 And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord,
and then to us by the will of God.

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His
servants the prophets.

2 Chronicles 20:20 - “Believe in the Lord God and you shall be established.
Believe his prophets and you will prosper”

God doesn’t want you to be a slave. He wants you to be a Son.

2 Corinthians 6:18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and
daughters, Says the LORD Almighty.”

b. Be willing to change(repent) and walk with God.

Col. 3:1-2 “Set your affection on things above not on things of the earth”.

• Gal.5:13 “You are called to liberty, but do not use liberty as an

occasion of the flesh but by love serve one another”.
