Problems / Events
Today (February 10, 2022) I have faced the problem of proper time management for
class 5 UH as planned. There are activities that have been planned can not be
carried out because there is not enough time. This poses a problem in achieving the
objectives, especially the final objectives in the teaching and learning process on
certain days.

Analysis
This problem arises because the group discussion activities that I have carried out
have sometimes exceeded the set time. It was found that the students took quite a
long time to complete the report of the results of the discussion and while reporting
the results of the discussion, there were some students who could not explain it
smoothly and quickly. In addition, this time problem also exists due to the disruption
of school activities such as assemblies which have taken quite a long time thus
reducing the time that has been planned.

Past Studies/ related studies

Time is a precious commodity for teachers. Most teachers will argue that they do not
have enough time to reach every student, especially those who are below grade.
Therefore, every second teacher with his students should be both meaningful and
productive. Successful teachers establish procedures and expectations that
minimize wasted downtime and maximize the learning opportunities involved. Time
wasted does not add up. A teacher who loses only five minutes of teaching a day
due to incompetence wastes the opportunity of fifteen hours during a 180 -day
school year. That extra time will likely make a significant difference for every student,
but especially those who are struggling to learn. Teachers can use the following
strategies to maximize student learning time and minimize downtime.

Proposed Follow -up Action

I should read books related to time planning in a teaching and learning process in
order to manage time more perfectly. I will prepare plan A and plan B at certain times
especially on the days involved with school assemblies so that the teaching and
learning process can run smoothly with the time that has been planned. To ensure
that group discussion activities do not exceed the allotted time, I will always remind
students of the time available and ask a representative of each group to make a
report within the allotted time. If the discussion touches on the same topic, I will
select only a few of the best results of the discussion to present. I will seek guidance
and advice from the mentor teachers and lecturers in addition to discussing with
fellow trainee teachers.

Follow -up Action Period

I will try to solve this problem within a week. Good time management is necessary to
ensure the smooth process of teaching and learning. If this problem cannot be
solved as soon as possible, of course, the objectives that have been planned will not
be fully achieved
