Biology BI.2.

09: Our Capstone project focused on studying how various hormones

impact the growth of plant tissue. To ensure the success of our experiment, we
leveraged our comprehension of feedback control systems, specifically the positive
and negative loops associated with hormonal regulation of sex organs, to devise our
approach. By applying this knowledge, we established a controlled setting where we
could manipulate the hormones and observe how they affect plant growth. Our
familiarity with feedback control systems enabled us to develop a more efficient
experimental design, which ultimately facilitated a more accurate interpretation of
our results.

Biology BI.2.10:
Our Capstone project involved investigating a hypothesis regarding how different
light wavelengths affect plant growth. To design and execute our experiment
effectively, we relied on our knowledge of the fundamentals of scientific
hypotheses and the scientific method. By formulating a well-defined hypothesis and
utilizing appropriate techniques to test it, we were able to obtain dependable
outcomes that we could thoroughly scrutinize and interpret. This enabled us to draw
insightful conclusions from our research and contribute to the body of knowledge in
this field.

Mathematics MA.2.06: Our Capstone project involved exploring the correlation

between the concentration of a specific chemical and the rate of reaction. To
comprehend how the reaction behaves as the product concentration increases, we
delved into the concept of limits in Mathematics. By utilizing our knowledge of
limits, we were able to determine the threshold point at which the reaction would
cease to progress and make informed predictions about its behavior under varying
circumstances. This enabled us to gain a deeper understanding of the chemical
reaction and its underlying principles, which we could utilize in future research
endeavors.
Earth Science ES.2.10: In our Capstone project, we were investigating the effects
of climate
change on the growth of certain plants. To understand the special properties of the
greenhouse
gases present in the Earth's atmosphere, we studied the ancient outgassing process
of the Earth.
By understanding how greenhouse gases affect the Earth's climate, we were able to
develop a
more informed hypothesis about the effects of climate change on plant growth.

Chemistry CH.2.08: Our Capstone project centered around studying the impact of
various chemicals on the growth of specific plants. To gain a better understanding
of how a feedback system operates in the electroplating of metals, we examined the
process of electrolysis and the redox reactions involved. By utilizing this
knowledge in our experiment, we developed a system where we could regulate the
quantity of chemicals applied to the plants and analyze their effects on growth.
This allowed us to control the variables involved in our research, enabling us to
obtain accurate and meaningful results. The insights gained from our experiment can
contribute to the advancement of the scientific understanding of plant growth and
chemical interactions..

Mathematics MA.2.07: In our Capstone project, we were analyzing data collected from
experiments on the effects of different concentrations of a particular chemical on
the rate of
reaction. To understand the rate of growth of the reaction and other
characteristics, we studied
differentiation and rate of change. By calculating the derivative of the reaction
data, we were able
to identify the rate of change of the reaction and make predictions about its
behavior under
different conditions.

Physics PH.2.08: In our Capstone project, we were investigating the potential for
using
renewable energy sources to power certain industrial processes. To understand the
generation of
the electromagnetic motive force and its use as a source of energy, we studied
electromagnetic
induction. By applying this knowledge to our project, we were able to design a
system in which
we could generate electricity using renewable energy sources and power industrial
processes.

Physics PH.2.15: Our study of p-n junctions and their application in solar panels
allowed us to
understand how solar panels convert sunlight into electrical energy. We transferred
this
knowledge to our Capstone project by designing a solar-powered irrigation system
for a small
farm. We used the principles of p-n junctions to choose the appropriate solar panel
and to
calculate the electrical energy output required to power the irrigation system. Our
understanding
of how p-n junctions work and their application in solar panels allowed us to
design a more
efficient and effective system for our project.

ME.2.05: Our study of power in Physics allowed us to understand the rate at which
energy is
transferred or transformed from one form to another, and how this understanding can
be applied
in various real-world scenarios. We were able to transfer this knowledge to our
Capstone project,
where we analyzed the power consumption of different electronic devices and how to
optimize
their energy usage to reduce electricity bills and minimize their environmental
impact. Through
the application of the concepts of power, such as the calculation of power
dissipation and the use
of power factor correction techniques, we were able to propose solutions to
increase the
efficiency of the devices and decrease their power consumption.
