RESEARCH PLAN

I-PROPOSED TITLE: INFLUENCE OF AUXIN METABOLISM AS GROWTH REGULATOR

IN ECONOMICALLY-IMPORTANT PLANTS

Objectives: This study generally aims to determine the influence of auxin metabolism of Aloe vera
extract.

Specifically, it aims to:

1. To evaluate the influence of Aloe vera in Auxin metabolism on plant growth and seedling growth

of economically-important plants namely; petchay (Brassica rapa), mungbean (Vigna radiate)

and tomato (Solanum lycoperscium).

2. To extract Aloe vera gel using Azmi Fauzan F. (2018) method and aqueous extract.

3. To determine the effect of Aloe vera gel extract to growth performance in plot culture

experiment in terms of plant height, no. of leaves.

4. To determine the effect of aqueous extract in tissue based experiment in terms of germination

percent (%) and root length.

5. To identify the growth performance among the selected plants.

III-MATERIALS AND METHODS:

Collection of Aloe Vera

Fresh aloe vera will be collected in Purok 4, Barangay 19. These will be put in a bowl and leave
approximately 15 to 30 mins and will be washed off with clean water.

Extraction of Aloe Vera gel

Tissue-based bioassay/ Pot culture

The aloe vera plant was cleaned first, and then its outer leaf was removed. The sample was then
cut into 3 cm pieces, laid out on filter cloths, and compressed to create slime (aloe vera extract).
(Mustapha B, 2015). Sliced aloe vera together with it gel will be put in clean container, the extracts will
be diluted of 5% by mixing the aloe vera gel with an equal amount of water. The mixture will be put in
the laboratory at a room temperature and leave it after 24hrs. (Gul B et.al, 2016)
Preparation of seed materials

The following plants seeds of petchay, mungbean, and tomato will be bought in Nadal, National
Highway.

Experimental Setup

In tissue-based experiment, 4 disposable plastic round tupperware in each seeds will be used for every

treatment. This experiment will be placed the plastic tupperwares in dark condition at 25C temperature.

(Mustapha B, 2015)

In plot culture experiment, every seeds contain same amount of soil and 4 plastic tray will be used for

every treatment. This experiment will be set in irrigated prepared aqueous gel extract of aloe vera in different

concentration, it will be alternate every day. (Sanchita Bhattacharya, 2020)

Data collection

The growth parameters that are being measured are Germination of percentage, root length,
seedling length, and the no. of plant leaf are established on the number of days after the
experimentation to determine the plant growth performance of the economically-important plants.

Data analysis

Data were subjected with statistical analysis especially One-Way ANOVA test.

Photography

Photographs of the experiments will be made during the process.
