A medical insurance company proposes to its customers three types of inpatient plans:
Plan A, plan B and plan C. Each customer chooses one plan type only. The customer can add an
outpatient plan O to any type of his inpatient plan.

A statistical study shows that:

● 30 % of the customers have chosen plan A of which 30 % have added the outpatient plan O.
● 45 % of the customers have chosen plan B of which 25 % have added the outpatient plan O.
● The remaining customers have chosen plan C of which 10 % have added the outpatient plan O.

A customer of this company is selected at random. Consider the following events:

A: "The customer chose plan A".
B: "The customer chose plan B".
C: "The customer chose plan C".
O: "The customer added the outpatient plan O".
1) a) Calculate the following probabilities P(A ∩ O), P(B ∩ O) and P(C ∩ O).

b) Verify that P(O) =

91 .

2) The selected customer did not add the outpatient plan O. Calculate the probability that plan A
was chosen.
3) Show that the probability that the selected customer added the outpatient plan O knowing that
one of the two plans A or B is chosen is equal to 0.27.

Total 600 900 500 2000

Three customers are selected at random.
a) Calculate the probability that the three selected customers added each the outpatient plan
O.
b) The three selected customers have added each the outpatient plan O. Calculate the
probability that at least one of them chose plan A.

● (G) is the representative curve over ]0 ; +∞[of a function g
in an orthonormal system (𝑂 ; 𝑖⃗, 𝑗⃗).
● The line (T) with equation y = 2x – 3 is tangent to (G) at the
point with abscissa 1.
● The curve (G) intersects the x-axis at the point with
abscissa √𝑒.
1) Determine g(√𝑒) and g'(1).
2) a) Study, according to the values of x, the relative
positions of (G) and the x-axis.
b) Deduce the sign of g(x) for all x in ]0 ; +∞[.
