Amended clause 15.2.

(ii) A completely assembled Breathable Corrugated Tank Shall have minimum air cushion height of
minimum 45mm and tested to withstand the pressure of 5PSI for 30 minutes without any deformation
or leakage.

Add following clauses under clause 15.2.2:

C) Welding of Tubular and Corrugated Tanks:

The transformer tank shall be of adequate mechanical strength to withstand positive and negative
pressures built up inside the tank while transformer is in operation. Welding should be strong, smooth
and uniform in every aspect.

All manufacturers will have Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Welding Performance
Qualification (WPQ) Criteria according to guidelines of any international standard.

D) Welding Technique, Operations and Quality control:

ii) The welder should be certified from any technical institution registered with provincial technical and
vocational authority.

External/Internal training and certification of welders:

If a certified human resource having minimum Qualification of DAE Mechanical with 5 years of
experience is available then external certification can be declared by development of skill matrix.

E) Welding thickness:

(i) Tubular Tank:

Minimum Fillet size 4mm Bottom Plate, thickness should be either

Throat size = 4.0mm

Or Leg length size = 5.0mm

(ii) Corrugated tank:

Minimum Edge weld size on bended bottom plate with end plates will be according to figure 8.
a1 = 3.0mm

a2 = 2.0mm

Lap joint Fillet of 1.2mm sheet should not be less than 1mm in thickness.
