Appendix A

Brookside Charter School’s goal is to receive a 10 year charter renewal in the 2027-28 school year.

In 2019 48.7% of Missouri students were reading at or above grade level. In 2022 36.5% of Brookside
Charter students were reading at or above grade level. Our goal is for 51% of our students to read at or
above grade level by the end of the 2027-28 school year. We measure this goal by collecting data from
mClass for grades Kindergarten to 5th and CORE Literacy assessments for grades 6th to 8th.

Primary
In 2022 33.6% of Primary students were reading at or above grade level. Our goal is for 51% of
our primary students to read at or above grade level by the end of the 2027-28 school year, an
average growth of 2.9% per year for 6 years.

Intermediate
In 2022 33.6% of Intermediate students were reading at or above grade level. Our goal is for 51%
of our Intermediate students to read at or above grade level by the end of the 2027-28 school year,
an average growth of 2.9% per year for 6 years.

Middle School
In 2022 42% of Middle School students were reading at or above grade level. Our goal is for 51%
of our Middle School students to read at or above grade level by the end of the 2027-28 school
year, an average growth of 1.5% per year for 6 years.

Brookside Charter acknowledges while literacy will be our Wildly Important Goal, there are other areas
that make up a student’s education and we will still be held accountable for our yearly MAP Scores.
Therefore we have set the following goals:

ELA
By the 2027-28 school year, Brookside Charter School will have 15.71% of students or less score
in the Below Basic category in ELA. This reduction will reflect an average decrease of
1.75% each year.
By the 2027-28 school year, Brookside Charter School will have 45.6% or more of students score
in the Proficient and or Advanced categories in ELA. This will reflect an average increase of
3.5% each year.

Math
By the 2027-28 school year, Brookside Charter School will have 18.56% of students or less score
in the Below Basic category in Math. This reduction will reflect an average decrease of
2.25% each year.
By the 2027-28 school year, Brookside Charter School will have 36.35% or more of students
score in the Proficient and or Advanced categories in Math. This will reflect an average
increase of 2.5% each year.
Science
By the 2027-28 school year, Brookside Charter School will have 27.43% of students or less score
in the Below Basic category in Science. This reduction will reflect an average decrease of
2.75% each year.
By the 2027-28 school year, Brookside Charter School will have 37.31% or more of students
score in the Proficient and or Advanced categories in Science. This will reflect an average
increase of 2.75% each year.
